unfortunately almost everyone is just Losing their minds now. 'BEST ANIME OF THE YEAR'. it's sad how stuff like this is so incredibly overrated when it's so flawed but literally nobody notices because 'deaf girl so cute you dislike you have no heart'.
your koe no katachi review made sense, you mentioned very logical points and i personally also share the opinion, it definitely deserves a 6/10, too many skipping, lack of character development and plot holes.
It seems that you want to have a more in depth view on how people reach the state of attempting to commit suicide and believe commiting suicide is the main aspect of the movie.
This is where you are wrong i believe, yes suicide is a prominent issue in the movie but what it is truly about is how people can start their life anew, the life they've once given up on. How people can change and the importance of friends. The role of the side characters is not to be fleshed out although i agree that kawai and orange head could use some more.
And there is a lot of visual storytelling going on which we need to piece together instead of them spoonfeeding us with just the thoughts the characters have.
I just wanted to express my view on it a bit. Perhaps it's just a difference of how we both interpret the movie
