It feels eerie and intense. It is beautiful. It almost never presents anything identifiable as ambience. It doesn’t evoke any feelings aside from being swept along like a spell. You end each watch with mixed feelings. You are left wondering what it is that you just finished watching. It is a great example of the beauty in animation. It excels in visuals, but it doesn’t present enough story. It prefers to use symbolism rather than holding the viewer with something palatable. I could expect this to be in an art museum. It makes so little sense even after rewatch that its like you are being ...

It is dripping with atmosphere. It will make you imagine spending time in the lavish spaces of Versailles. You can't help but wish to wear their clothes and to eat what they eat.

The characters feel like cardboard cutouts. They don't show any personality even when contextualized by their station in life. It feels like a third-person description of people interacting without any understanding of insecurity and the pressures of class. The character felt less authentic in those moments. The main girl was the only character that felt as if they had any emotions. The other characters were just there as if they are filling a space defined by predefined traits.

There is a servant that is colored like he's doing blackface. What is going on????? It is so strange and unacceptable. He reappeared in chapter 30. I gave up on reading. It is the kind of thing that ...

Preliminary (63/100 chp)
Naive Perspective on Authority and Material Interest. A king would have an intrinsic understanding of their sentience and the sentience of other people. His demenor would be that of nobility wherein their station would contradict their understanding of shared sentience. The contradiction would precipatate a sense of insecurity in their station. They would have an interest in feeling a greater sense of security. They would feel more secure by asserting those who do not hold their station are inferior. They would feel greater security from intimate examples of the alleged inferiority of others. They would have an interest in using their martial prowess to work ...
