Both of the mangas deal with girls loving animals (one focuses on dogs, though). They both have the main characters encounter each other when one's trying to see the animal. They're also short, cute, and sweet.

Reading Beast Master, I was reminded of Fruits Basket. Both of the mangas have an innocent feel to it. The two mangas also have character(s) where they turn into animals, or have an animal-like personality that they can't control. This makes people misunderstand them, and are believed to be freaks. So if you liked either one of them, you'll like the other!
