I shall try to make this short and helpful!
Art::
I loved the art in this manga. The artist worked very hard, in my opinion, and he did fabulous with differentiating all the characters. If you dislike the "only showing one eye to exaggerate an effect" then you will be annoyed in this manga. I personally enjoy this effect because the artist puts it in serious situations and doesn't misuse it. Another incredible aspect is that the artist is great at expressing the emotions of the characters. I could literally see the reaction and the different anticipations of the characters as if they were alive. It just
...
made the story that much more enjoyable.
Character::
The characters are great! Sure the author took some usual character types, but I personally don't mind. I'm just so happy to find that the main girl is NOT STUPID! As in, she doesn't go all gaga, she doesn't do totally stupid things (unless she has a reason), and she is someone you could relate to. The characters also act so HUMAN like! They all have situations where they would act just like any other person in the real world. The characters are also so deep. They all have a story and they all can be identified. Even the background characters are easy to spot with their personalities too! Its also nice to see that many back up characters get a chance to shine in the manga, making it that much more realistic (because honestly people seen in the background are just decorations in reality!).
Story::
Ahhhh the story. Its so intense. The author takes great pleasure in making sure the reader understands the situations and why characters act the way they do. There are a few plots going on in the manga. Theres, of course, the love story between the two protagonists, an evil corporation trying to steal from the protagonists out of greed and power, the history between the dead brother and the male protagonist, the interaction between the female protagonist and 'Daisy', and basically every interaction the characters have! I can never get lost in this story. Plus, you just want to keep reading the whole time. The author is really good at drawing in the audience and suddenly throw a climax in a chapter. I seriously read this manga in two days because it was so addicting! I can't wait for the story to continue.
Enjoyment::
I enjoyed this very much. I'm not much of a reader, and most certainly not a Manga reader either. I just wanted to read this story because I heard so much debut from it. And now I can understand why. Its, of couse, a shoujo with the usual romantic scenes, but I'm fine with the cliches. It was the story and the fun love that really got me into the book.
Overall::
This wasn't a masterpiece, but I would definitely put it in the 9 level, even though I voted a 10 for everything. I just enjoyed it so much. But I agree its not a masterpiece, although the plot in my opinion is very original (as far as I can tell).
So, if you're ok with the cliche, overly used lines (although this isn't used a lot in this manga) and the usual character stereotypes, and that you just want another manga where you can dream of at night, this is something to read.
I guarantee that this manga will be made an anime someday.

I will try to be precise in this review:
First up, the art was absolutely amazing. The landscapes and details in every minute object were breathtaking. Leaving the characters on a basic style made the movie over all very balanced.
Sound was great, they added all the right sounds in all the right places, especially in the natural scenes.
Characters were very enjoyable. They are almost symbols of different stages of our life. The younger sister represents our innocent and imaginative ways when we were small. The older sister shows the kind of people who are growing older and more mature but still have an inner kid inside.
...
The mother is one of those hopeful people who believes in fairytales and happy endings despite downsides. The father is the stage where we are adults who can enjoy ourselves every once in a while with the help of some youngsters. There are more characters, but you can see the movie. All I can say is that each one had their own personality and no two were the same.
The story was almost perfect, it basically is about how a family moves to the countryside (most likely to help the sickly mother get well) and the children adjust to their new surrounding, meeting a spiritual neighbor named totoro. Other than the last quarter of the movie, there was no specific plot. But its a kids movie, and its japanese so its excused. :P
OPINION:
To be honest, I did not want to see this movie and kept delaying it for a long time. It didn't seem very impressive but I'm glad I gave it a shot. It is a very uplifting movie that helps one's spirits rise and bring back old memories from childhood. It definitely fits in the group with Spirited Away and Ponyo but it brings a new edge all the same. I highly suggest you watch it. If you don't believe me, give it 10-20 minutes and we will see who is right.
If you have kids, this is a very fun movie to watch it with :)

So let me begin this by saying that YOU people should go read the manga either after you see the anime or instead of watching the anime. Why? I shall explain:
First up, the art was quite nice and had some very detailed scenes, some of which I would expect to be used in movies. Now, that was the first half of the anime. Towards the end, I am guessing due to lack of money, they started making some crazy alterations. One episode was composed purely of paper puppets which ruined the major plot points depicted in that episode. Sheesh, first they get you excited but
...
then they deceive you!
Sound was very fitting in this anime, probably the best aspect. They chose appropriate music for the most fitting situations. Even the end song sort of depicted that cute love the main characters share!
Which brings me to the characters. Now I'm not going to lie, but a few of these figures are definitely one of those over used personalities. BUT the great thing about this anime was that they altered the personalities and created something new. I tell ya, I was definitely surprised by some of the actions the protagonist did. Also, for once the girl isn't a complete moron. She reminds me a bit of that girl in 'Special A' which is a huge breather seeing as one can only get enough of such characters. Still, this protagonist has a bit of flavor too and an interesting family to the boot. Although her lover is just that nice fellow you see in EVERY anime. The thing that made me love the manga more was because in the manga the male character is shown in a different light with a more colorful background! He isn't as 'hidden' as he is in the anime.
Ok ok now the story. Hmmmm oh the story. It was an interesting plot but the anime rushed it and actually ruined some of the most crucial points in the story. This is why I went to the manga because it satiates a viewer's thirst to understand the plot. Ya, I would suggest watching another anime, but if you have the time, give this one a shot, and go to the manga when you're done.
Overall, it was enjoyable the first few episodes and it could have become something spectacular, but alas the lack of money ruined it.
If you see this anime, I must tell you, I am forever scarred by the cut in nerd head they added in a few episodes. Creep.

Story
The story was interesting, definitely an original. It just made the show that much deeper in a comical sense of course. I find that you have all kinds of genres in this show. Theres romance, some action, lots of drama, and just plain comedy. It was a "filling" show for those who want a nice, long anime to fill up their time.
Art
The art is pretty good for being made in the 90s, but some colors made the show look more like it was for 3 years olds instead of 10. It was cute, all the same though.
Sound
It just makes me laugh to remember all
...
the nutty songs you hear in this show and the recognizable voices. The main character just loves to sing, and thats all I can say. I find that the sound was the cutest thing in this show.
Enjoyment
I make it a 7/10 for a couple of reasons. Sure, I loved the episodes and the plots, but I feel like it was another Dragon Ball Z or Naruto where the creators constantly tried to fill the season with fillers. It got annoying to watch sometimes when all you want was to see how the plot was progressing. You will notice more of this in the last half of the season. So, it was funny, but tedious, which is why I give it a 7.
Overall
I liked it, I wouldn't put it in high priority but maybe save it for a depressing, rainy day if you are bored. It still entertains you, but there are better animes out there. Although, this one makes it pretty high on my chart seeing it was meant for little kids. I might just continue reading the story (yes, it continues on in the manga) sometime in the future for another good laugh.
Try watching the first 10-20 episodes if you want to test it though.

I have seen several love comedy animes, but this one is by far the most satisfying. Not only do you get the love scenes you dream of seeing when you watch a love anime, but you also enjoy the progression towards those scenes. The plot is somewhat predictable, but it contains a large amount of surprises that one never sees in other animes. The characters have a very distinct personality, especially the main male character (Irie) whose outlook on things can never be predicted. The main protagonist is a refreshing comical character one needs to keep a light air in the anime. While other
...
animes have tiring situations where the viewer feels discouraged about whether the protagonist will succeed, this show keeps several backup characters to keep the audience's spirit high.
A final detail that this anime especially delivers is a most satisfying ending. One is always prepared for a teary eyed ending that leaves the storyline incomplete, but this plot does not leave you hanging. It goes far enough to leave the story feeling complete and with a happy ending. It also makes sure to not have any fillers, yes, there are NO filler episodes (with the exception of a special episode at the end of the series). Each episode played a large part in making the plot be what it is.
I definitely suggest this anime to anyone who desires a filling serving of a love story that isn't too serious in dialogue, but serious enough to make the audience want to stand up and cheer for a job well done.
