Main character reincarnates into a world where magic exisits and continues to presue his childhood dream. Super cringe at times but it makes sense for the story premise. The anime just about covers all the usual tropes but everything comes together into a great show.

-Good action and visual animation
-Story grandually builds and continuously increases in complexity.
-Comedy of "misunderstandings" and cringe
-I like the audio effect when the main character says his signature move "I am atomic"

Main flaw is that there are a lot of side characters but limited screen time. The show does a good job of introducing side characters sequentially such that you know ...

One Punch Man (Anime) add
Mixed Feelings
Overall, the show has good action and is relatively funny. It is over the top and fun for a while but trends towards becoming predictable.

On further reflection, I feel this show is actually supposed to be satire. The main character is a NEET ("Not in Education, Employment, or Training"), he is an extraoridanry indivitual, does not get recongnized for his potential, other people get credit for his accomplishments, his superior are less compentent then himself, so on and so fourth. Preliminary (6/12 eps)
First impression of this series was, what is up with those lips. Though this really only applies to two characters thus far it contributes to the comical undertone of the show. Having a genre of military and magic with a R rating leads to a more dark comedy like feel. The reason why I find it hilarious is from the many contrasts and contradictions that occur throughout the show. Some of which are as follows.

prayers to god in order to maximize magic output (that's blasphemy right there)
little girl playing the role of a military officer
main character motives differs from her heroic and patriotic image
main character's ...

Just an introduction episode to set up the story. The poster boy wasn't in it and we are really only introduced to the princess. There seems to be some political strife, ongoing natural disasters (which don't seem to be natural at all), some mysterious runes, and some magic stuff (which kind of just inserted at the end). The narrative was a bit confusing because it kept jumping around but the art and animation were pretty good. There is the sword in the stone reference to King Arthur. Not familiar with the source material but I'll give the main show a try but we'll see.
