I discovered this manga from a video on youtube that talked about ookumo chan flashback and i fell in love with it even though i only read the first volume (6 chapters) because of a lack of translated content.
the hyper detailed art filled with religious symbolism from shintoism, hinduism, buddhism and other occidental and oriental ideologies and religions looked super cool, you could make a wallpaper with every page of the manga.
the story made me relate a lot, since i'm a bit of shaman weirdo myself i've convinced a lot of friends and girlfriends to make weird rituals with them. also i love the Riichi
...
ueshiba artstyle and storytelling. it's moe but just enough to not be annoying.
Mysterious girlfriend x for example, sure has some moments where you're like "yep, this is definitely fanservice" but the relation between the MC and the mysterious girlfriend in question is weirdly mature for a manga, they are equal to one another. If you take all of the spit fetish and other questionable shit out of the story, it could kind of happen IRL. (maybe because riichi is a woman, so it has less "omg senpai is so cool" and more normal relationships)
The same thing happens with discommunication, i like to say discommunication was MGX version beta.
Riichi was interested in the "normie meets wise/weird/misterious person and creates a bond with her, making us discover the character entirely in a natural way along with the normie." trope. And both MGX and discommunication have this.
Also, the relationship between the MC and the mysterious boyfriend in discommunication is super cute, i have to admit i have a weak spot for that.
if anyone can send me a link to some web page where i can read it translated i would be the happiest man on earth.
the only reason i rated it 9 on enjoyment is because i didnt read it entirely.
