I was genuinely surprised at how much I liked this show. It's not exactly thrilling or hilarious or anything, and I don't do well with slice-of-life / feel-good type shows. I think this show is borderline slice-of-life with enough comedy thrown in that it does a fair balance between the two. And I can appreciate the realistic scenes of the main character's selfishness - a lot of anime have trouble pulling it off without losing appeal to viewers, but the main guy acknowledges his selfishness and jealousy in a way that feels relatable. What sucks is, this feels like two (maybe even three) interesting stories that they tried to mash into one whole show and because of that, it felt a little skewed. Now, to be clear, some of those stories were good, but some of them... I don't understand the purpose of Inori being part of Egoist IN THE SHOW. Lol it was almost laughable at how they didn't think that one through. Why does it matter if she's a vocalist of EGOIST (a real J-pop duo)? I found it all solid across the board (story, art, sound, etc.). It's a cute, lighthearted anime, which is just my type. The kind that doesn't make you feel like you need to think or anything, just see something cute and sparkly, but having enough humor to avoid being cringey. I'm... so confused. To be honest, I can't even tell if I liked this show. There's so many plot twists and turns and confusions that by the end of it, I thought "I... liked this show. I think?" It kind of gives off a Bakemonogatari type feel where the basics of everything looks normal, but then outta nowhere, someone falls out of the sky, there's some kind of gag character that is insanely strong to the point where your heart hurts because you feel they have gone through pain, the most normal character turning out to be the weirdest, most out there character... this show

It's a good anime - most visual novel-turned-anime are kind of annoying but this one was surprisingly well done. Strangely enough, it's sort of hard to follow, the little romance it has seems forced, the story keeps getting convoluted and drawn out, but the background plot and idea is strangely so good that it's hard to rank it anything less than a 7. I seriously have lost faith in humanity that this anime is rated so highly on this site. Genuinely, it makes me realize how we select tits over substance because that's the only thing this show had going for it. Almost every character in this show is either forgettable or so frustratingly blindly stupid that it's just pitiful to watch. Like it feels like this had the makings for possibly a good show, but for some reason, they needed to fill a few extra scenes so they just dragged on things that should've taken a second. Case in point (SPOILER ALERT): the main character's weapon broke.

This anime genuinely made me giggle and I'm a 30 year old obasan lol. It's a cute show - it's definitely not meant to make you think deeply or feel emotional in any way or anything. It's just fun to watch when you want to relax with something cute and funny. It's hilarious in a cute way (not like a genuinely funny way like Sket Dance or Gintama, but just in a way that makes you smile). It's definitely a rom-com type that leans more towards the com since the romance is kind of overdone to the point where it's comedic (which is the goal).

I watched both Fate/Stay Night and Fate/Zero in one go; they're basically a main story and a prequel - the background premise (7 chosen Masters are able to summon 7 Servants who represent different heroes / legends throughout history to battle in order to obtain the Holy Grail, which grants a wish) is really interesting. I mean, it's not super uncommon, as it happens with a lot of anime (Dragonball, Fushigi Yuugi... so many anime where people fight just to obtain a wish). It's a good premise.
However, overall, I can see why Fate/Zero has a much higher score than Fate/Stay Night. A show's worth is ...

Two things that never happen: I never rate anything a pure 10, and I never cry at anime (a few scenes I'll tear up here and there, but not full on cry where I need a tissue).
