"Somewhere right now, 'The End of Evangelion' is f@#%ing with someone's mind."

While I loved last two episodes and feel that they give the series and emotional conclusion, we all had to know what happened outside of Shinji's mind during instrumentality.

Just like the series, I'm drowning in a sea of symbolism and meaning. This movie is really what you make of it, if you only watch it with an open mind. Such an incredible conclusion to an amazing series.

I will always fight against the classification of Eva as a mecha anime. This series focuses far more on the Childrens' emotional development and dissection of their identities. Even when they're fighting, it's never just about victory. Battles always have a deeper meaning- berserker, emotional strength and persistence, pride, and the psychological breaking point, for example. I have even recommended Evangelion to my college psychology and sociology professors.

Normally, I do not enjoy stories that survive on withheld information (ie anything by Dan Brown). Evangelion does it right; obviously we don't know the history, the biology, the politics... or anything at ...

FAVORITE. As I said with the first series, how can you not sympathize with two boys missing their mother?

Although the beginning feels a little rushed, it does make sense not to dwell too much on the events we already saw in the first version. Subtle differences make the recap worth it.

With strong characters like Winry, Hawkeye, Lan Fan, and Major General Armstrong, you can really tell that this series is written by a woman. Winry is far more independent, and actually involved in the plot instead of just tagging along. None of them are your typical damsel in distress, or even ...

FAVORITE.

I feel like anyone who gives this anime a chance will fall in love. How can you not sympathize with two very troubled young boys missing their mother and trying to bring her back? The bond between the brothers holds this whole series together, and it gives them a constant characterization. The military's involvement is very elaborate, but still makes sense and connects to everything.

I know a lot of people say this first adaptation is inferior to the manga, but I disagree. This version of the Homunculi's origins puts far more responsibility on the alchemist, and it ties the homunculi's creation ...

Trigun (Anime) add
Trigun is one man's crusade for peace in a world afraid to trust. And also donuts.

I think Vash is Kenshin in another life. Although I'm not sure how realistic a peace-loving warrior is, I like the idea. Wolfwood strikes me as the most developed character, and he works especially well in juxtaposition to Vash. This anime always leaves me feeling like there's something more to digest.

I am convinced that Trigun draws at least partially from T. S. Eliot's The Wasteland. Despite hating both poem and poet, the similarity adds a whole other level of depth and meaning to the series. ...

Cowboy Bebop (Anime) add
A boy I liked said one day: "Have you heard 'Tank'? You have to hear 'Tank'." He sent me the album version, and insisted any series with music this good has to be worth a watch.

Most of the episodes are self contained, and oddly enough, it works. It is actually easier to get hooked because even though there's a good overarching story with many small details, they're scattered throughout the series and you don't get bogged down with plot point overload. The characters are consistent and realistic, and gradual changes happen along those oneshot stories.

At the end of it all, the phenomenal ...
