Hm... On the topic of Berserk, I'd say that my favorite arc is probably between the Millennium Falcon arc and the Conviction arc, with a slight preference towards the Millennium Falcon arc. I think that, for me, the Millennium Falcon arc contains what I think a lot of the "true" essence of Berserk really is, kind of reminding me and other readers of the Golden Age arc: Guts, not as a wandering, blood-lusted, grieving demon slayer, but as a man whose motivations are ultimately rooted in how much he truly cares about other people and his almost overwhelming desire to protect them and his resultant fear that he may ultimately fail. In the Millennium Falcon arc, Guts regains a family in a way that I think he never truly thought he would and has to begin to wrestle with giving in to the The Beast within him in order to keep them safe or resisting it in the fear that The Beast may turn on them one day instead. I love Guts the most when he has a family to protect and I think the Millennium Falcon arc expresses that more than even the Golden Age arc ever did, especially when Schierke begins to follow him and starts seeing him as more of a guardian figure too. She and Isidro, kids in general, bring out Guts' soft side to a frankly hilarious degree. That, coupled with him literally beginning to share the role of caregiver to Casca with Farnese, and allowing people like Serpico, Roderick, and Magnifico to become close to his heart in ways that he least expected really gives Guts a lot more to care about and forces him to try to become a better man again in the process.

One of the defining moments for Berserk for me is when Guts finally sees Griffith again on the Hill of Swords. His fated reunion with the man he has been obsessed with killing for ages; the source of his famous Berserker rage; the scourge and bane of his life and a symbol of his ultimate failure and his subsequent descent into rage, madness, anger, and insanity. You would expect Guts to just go NUTS, to blitz all the way the hell out and take the fight to Griffith once and for all. The alpha and omega, the beginning and the end! This is finally it!

...And he decides that its more important that Casca is safe instead. He quite literally chooses to abandon his quest for vengeance to focus on the one thing its always been about from the very beginning: love. Damn Griffith, damn Falconia or whatever the hell he's doing. None of that really, ultimately matters anymore. As long as he can keep the ones he loves safe, nothing else matters. He even begins to warm up to his corrupted...demon spawn...thing/child as well.

Its all a really long-winded way of saying that I think Berserk is one of the greatest stories ever told that I've been following ever since I was a small child and Kentaro Miura's death left a gaping wound in my heart. @_@

Oh well.

In any case! I'm glad you like Berserk too. How far have you gotten into it? I hope I didn't spoil anything...too serious there. x.x Please feel free to reprimand me if I have. I don't believe in spoiler policies in regards to how old things are. If someone doesn't know that Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father then I'm for sure still not going to tell them until they can experience it themselves! ...Not that that would help much, I'm afraid. And to backtrack, Kakyoin licking the cherry is one of the biggest mindfucks ever. Especially since you start out believing that its just a quirk of a kooky character, then you find out that its just the kooky quirk of a minor villain, and then by the end of the episode you see that the villain was just copying a mannerism than even Jotaro didn't know Kakyoin had. The sudden fear/revulsion on Jotaro's face at the end of that episode isn't one I'll ever quite forget.

As of now, I have still yet to play anymore ASBR... Mega oof. I wonder how the online community is for that game anyways. I doubt it would be a dead game already but sheesh, what a weird way to drop the ball.

What I have been doing lately is actually watching Sailor Moon! I'm about 14 or so episodes deep into the first season of a show that I've been trying to convince myself to start watching for well over a decade and I gotta say: I'm not sure what took me so long. I'm quite enjoying this show. I can definitely see why its considered to be a landmark anime. Sometimes while I'm watching it I have to remind myself that the show as made in 1992! Which seems absurd because it really feels a lot more modern than that. And that's coming from someone who loves retro anime. The music, the art direction, the character design, the themes...its really super duper modern and looks and sounds amazing for its time. I actually completed the Sailor Moon manga ages ago, to the point where I can't really remember anything about it anymore...but I might need to re-read that after I complete the anime and I'm in for the long haul: I'm going to complete every. single. season. Even if it kills me. Which it might. x3 Did you ever get into Sailor Moon? What do you think about it?

That is true, I suppose, about the sympathetic villain not being that common back when Part 4 was released, but I'm more referring to people who get into it nowadays with that in mind. I guess its cool to see a villain be "old school" in that regard. XD I know that I enjoyed it myself at the time I got into it.

I will say, I have only put maybe a few hours into ASBR and I'm still trying to get the hang of it. It is rather odd to play. I haven't played in...quite awhile. I didn't even try the online mode, just fighting CPUs and doing stuff in training mode to get the hang of things. I agree with you in that its not a game that I would play everyday at all, haha. I like fighting games too, so that's definitely not the problem with it... I always wanted to play Eyes of Heaven, but I was never able to get it for consoles a long time ago and I have no idea where I'd find it these days without getting it online. I was hoping ASBR would be more like that, but ASBR seems to be more of an arcade style fighter than having any kind of real story, which I did find a tad disappointing. Although I will say that a fighting game I liked a lot is J-Stars Victory VS. You could play as Joseph and Jonathan in that one and they were super cool. That game was actually what encouraged me to start watching the anime.

And yeah, the release schedule for the Jojo series leaves...much to be desired. That's why I stepped away from Part 8 when I did. At least, in my mind, at the very least, Araki's manga actually gets finished eventually. I'm a Berserk and HunterxHunter fan as well and being a fan of those manga...has been suffering. Especially considering that Kentaro Miura's died relatively recently. I don't often let "celebrity"(not sure how well that term applies to mangaka) deaths get to me but Kentaro's death really blind-sided me, especially since he seemed so close to finally realizing his vision and bringing Berserk to an end: the fact that he never got to see it through is tragic to me and I wouldn't wish that on any creative. With that said, yeah, we should probably take our time reading Part 8. Especially since, when part 9 does start, it probably won't be completed for another decade or so. x3

Hello ! Hope you’re doing well .
Well that sucks that you have also bad weather . Which is your favorite season to hang out outside ?
Also are anime / manga popular where you live ?

I’m impressed by the way you say that you’re afraid of the length of a manga. Are you a fast reader ?
To be honest with you I have only watch the anime , just read the manga but I remember that when you go see into the manga , you get hooked and just can’t stop to read . But yeah it’s better to be in good shape to read because it has a lot of details and information . Do you like plot which is related to war ?

Well I watch anime everyday even in the train but I would not describe as a compulsive watcher . Yeah I understand what you mean but everyone has is own peace so that’s okay 👍

Btw do you have any other hobbies ?

See you

Hello! Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I've been dealing with a few things lately... >>;

In any case, I will say that I didn't know that Araki opted to make Kira less sympathetic on purpose. I guess that does fall in line with him needing to be appear just be a particularly sinister Jojo villain though, I can see why making him more more sympathetic would, perhaps, lessen his impact if only just a tiny bit. Sympathetic villains are getting really played out these days. I don't really have a problem with it, but I have noticed an...uptick, I suppose. XD Kira is indeed a nice departure from that if someone were to get into reading Part 4 today. And I didn't notice the poetic nature of his death either! That is an excellent way to think about it and it makes the apparent randomness of his death seem much more reasonable to me now.

I'm glad to have found someone else that likes Ringo! I don't know if you play fighting games much, but I bought JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R on Steam not too long ago and I mentioned my disappointment to one of my friends that they were able to get a VA for Ringo as one of the main menu guys and not have him as a playable character! I mean, I get that he's a minor villain but there are other minor villains on the roster too. x.x

Oh well, maybe in a DLC I'll finally be able to play as him. He really does go beyond simply being "cool." He made me think. Which is something that not a lot of minor villains in Jojo manage to get out of me.

As far as Part 8 goes, I started reading part 8 a super duper long time ago now... I was following in pretty faithfully, but I got tired of waiting for the new chapters to come out so I wanted to wait for awhile so I could get back into it and have more to read and I ended up waiting until it ended before getting back to it. Oops! XD On the bright side, I get to read a ton of Part 8 once I get the time to do so. Its gonna be great. I loved what I was reading when I first started and was following along, and I'm not sure how far into it I got as opposed to where it is now that its completed, but if you like Part 4, Part 8 is basically a love letter for Part 4 fans in particular. Trust me on that one. You need to give it a shot if you haven't.

It’s time to ditch the text file.
