One of my first reviews and what better than to do it on Usagi Drop another one of those titles I hold so dear. The story overall is very heart warming which is portrayed very uniquely.
The story revolves on the main character Daikichi a single 30 year old who takes in a young girl Rin. The story is sweet and like I say very heart warming as you see the characters develop. The overall animation is very nice the colours used on the character and the scenery are very soft and colourful. I find the ending very satisfying for the anime. Overall Usagi

Drop is a real enjoyable anime. And should be a must see. 10 out of 10
like many who have already reviewed this anime, this review is more for focused on people who plan on continuing the story after the anime. However if you do happen to finish the anime I would strongly advise that you should really leave it at that don’t go looking for the manga series (I mean the storyline after the anime).
SPOILER ALERT:
This is really when you should stop reading this review; this is about the manga what happens after Usagi drop the anime.
After hearing good things about the manga from people mentioning how great and how much better it is compared to the anime I decided to read into it. I do have to admit that I only read the manga chapters after the anime’s storyline I did not start the manga from the very beginning.
Anyway the story continues with a fast forward in time 10 years to be exact where Rin is a high school student. The story continues to develop the characters but the story lacks the emotional qualities that were in the beginning when Rin is still a young girl. I guess one of the main attractions which im sure most of you will enjoy is seeing how the character Daikichi develops as he slowly becomes a father to Rin. The story progresses in a way where you want to cheer for Daikichi struggling and learning to be a single father.
The Manga’s story continuation looses that the story instead is more focused on the chracter’s love life. I kept reading it as I was thinking it might involve how Daikichi continues to learn how to be a father for a teenage daughter however sadly it’s not as interesting as the beginning. Rins love life gets complicated especially with her childhood friends. The story seems to have changed genres all of a sudden, it’s about this boy liking this girl, this girl liking this boy, this boy doesn’t like this girl, and this girl doesn’t like this boy.
SPOILER ALERT: this part is for after you have finished the manga.
Regardless the story near the end decides to drop a huge bomb. Suddenly you get Rin loving Daikichi as a lover, why? The story was going so well. It feels the story near the end of the series seemed to be rushed suddenly you get this bomb and then to “make it ok” you have Rin not being blood related to Daikichi and then they agreed that they might love one another romantically after Rin graduates which then you have yet another fast forward 2 years. Then you see Daikichi and Rin starting to be romantically involved (cause Daikichi accepted Rin) and then you hear Rin’s future plans of wanting to have Daikichi’s baby and raise it with him then end of story.
My reactions to story line after the anime especially with the ending gave me a sick feeling and also rather upset. How can you start a story where you were focusing on something that drew the readers/viewers to continue and then suddenly change the plot? We have a heart warming sweet story right at the start and then we have something completely different leading towards the feeling of incest. This is possibly one of the reasons the anime doesn’t have a sequel.
