I love this show (both seasons) because of it's emphasis on independence and forging your own path. When I started watching I was expecting a very cookie cutter romance anime, however this turned out to be a story that focused on Shirayuki's life and development. I think it illustrates a healthy dynamic between Shirayuki and Zen, which is what I love. Rather than being co-dependent like in some romance anime, their relationship takes a backseat to their character and career development. They compliment each other while still prioritizing their own goals. There's also a noticeable lack of the nonsensical drama you often see in
