Having watched a fair deal of romance/tragedy anime series and knowing fair well that this was not going to be a happy unending, I was unconvinced of the storyline bridging what appears to be a forced romantic relationship between Takayuki and Mitsuki. Even if the romance is fictional, honestly it jumped around from completely awkward and unromantic moments to kissing and sex.
Not my main argument, but the general lack of character development, coupled with the unnatural story development right from the beginning turned me off. The arc fast forward a few years after the accident in episode 4 sees Takayuki and Haruka together as
