Death Note was the first shonen series I ever watched, and it is not an overstatement to say that even though I have watched many others, this one still tops my list. Its definately my favorite. Almost everything about this anime is perfect- the characters, the plot, the mystery and the extremely interesting cat-and-mouse chase between main characters L and Light. Both L and Light are extremely intelligent and the plans they come up with devised to catch the other are genius and highly interesting.
