I've only watched the anime so far and haven't touched upon the manga. That being said I had no expectations for Planetes. So, to put 5 as an overall score is honestly displeasing and baffling. All I really look for is storyline progression and character development in animes and this was just meh.

- Had great potential, but it eventually got rushed and unnecessary side stories that was added into the mix. They could've went in more depth with the mcs and showed their struggle with the obstacles put infront of them, but nah the writers didn't bother. Show left me

Charlotte is honestly the most in depth and creative story topped with good old comedy to make it just amazing. I honestly finished this whole anime of 13 episodes in one session and like I don't regret a single second of it. There are so many surprises and roller coaster drops that happened in the plot like I was amazed. Another thing that made this so enjoyable too was the music.
