That´s alright. I can understand your sentiment. I really enjoy SAO myself and I do relize that an objective assessment literally destroys the anime. It is not necessarily wrong to have a different perspective and even a certain bias towards certain genres and types. It was more so that you were focusing too much on a completely different medium and it read more like a comment than an actual review.

I did watch the entire series back in the day. But I don´t think that I could get back into it. I remember the first two seasons being very slow while for the most part just providing the standard harem stuff. I actually hold DC II 1st and 2nd season in somewhat good memory. Probably because they dropped the heavy amount of harem compared to the first DC series (for the most part at least). DC III just killed the series for me. Mostly standard harem + they basically killed the whole mystery. The previous series contained a magical sakura tree and a few people who could conjure up some magic. There was never a real explanation as to why, but there didn´t need to be one. Now all of a sudden there is a whole different magic society in some kind of parallel universe or sth like that. It just seemed too forced to me. Seeing as there hasn´t been any new DC anime adaptation, I don´t seem to be the only one thinking this franchise has seen the zenith of its popularity. I mean, the DC IV VN has been out for years now and there are no talks of a DC III SS or an anime adaptation for DC IV. For better or for worse, this series massive anime influx seems to be over, at least for now.

Come on, man. Your review is more about your opinion on the VN and less on the anime. And if I have to consult outside sources to understand the medium I am currently consuming, then something went completely wrong. I am sorry, but I don´t think many people are willing to play through a 50+ hours VN just to fully understand a 4-hour long anime.
