I probably enjoyed this more than I should have because I was into student/teacher relationships when I read it.
If you take out the student/teacher context, the drama quality is still relatively enjoyable.
Each page is conductive to the story, with images and dialogue that effectively tell the story. Thru small details, we're treated to a glimpse into both of the characters' psyche - which I think was pretty cool.
The art is not the most amazing or special, but it's expressive, and conveys the tone and nuances perfectly.

If you don't mind old style animation, dive right in - you will be rewarded :P
But if you don't like cliches, then probably not. This ova/manga is a lighthearted comedy/romance. I'm biased against this because I'm weak to comedy. The tease is actually quite enjoyable, at least for me. Note: Some scenes might leave you confused, but the anime tries to tone down the jokes in the manga, one of which involves getting hit by car and sent flying yet not getting injured in anyway. Don't let the crappy synopsis put you off - this is actually a really good manga.
The characters don't follow any common stereotypical archetypes, and feel very genuine. The art is visually very pleasing; it has a casual, natural feel to it, yet is detailed and expressive. Textures are amazing - especially the hair. As for plot, it has quite a unique one. It might seem normal and fluffy in the beginning, but shit will go down and shit will happen, I promise.
