Netsutai no Citron is definitely pretentious, but it also isn't that bad.
The underlying themes this manga establishes are very controversial, the concept of freedom being one of them. Compared to works like one piece and AOT, both series had more time to explain said theme and work with it along the story, though I do believe netsutai no citron does it better than One piece, the amount of contradictions this manga has is crazy. This manga does in fact happen in a dystopia-like setting, and it does a good job in showing the downsides of a dystopian society.
Another downside I experienced while reading this manga
...
is its use of intercourse, the mangaka really does use it a lot throughout the story. Although I was ready to see a lot of it, a lot of the sex scenes brought up in this manga can be deemed unnecessary especially because some of the scenes have some relevance to the storyline. I am definitely not trying to say all the scenes were meaningless, because some did show the axiom of addiction to sex, one of the main characters problems, but it also undermines the value of intercourse and I definitely cringed while it did. While art doesn't bother me, if you're an art enthusiast you will dislike this manga.
Overall, it isn't a bad read, but you come out with more questions than answers, and in some cases it might be good, in this case, it is definitely not great.

Why did I watch this absolute degenerate piece of media? I zoomed pass episode one because a friend said for me to watch it, and I soon realized what I'd gotten into. Let me tell you why this is utter trash and should be taken down along with many hentai.
Anyways, let me actually state the problems with this hentai, first off, the incest, need I say more? The normalcy of this theme of hentai is absolutely disgusting, how can one think of banging their sisters? The show has no premise as usual, because it is a hentai, and even though I dislike the idea of
...
hentai and have my opinions about it, I realized why many problems society face today is because people consume media that normalize incest, especially in Japan. Although it might seem like I am waffling, but people actually enjoy this degeneracy of a hentai, which is very detrimental to ones relationships and thought process.
Through and through this is hot garbage, absolutely disturbing, and if you read this, just do not try to watch it.

If you're looking for an enjoyable anime, Hajime no Ippo is a must-watch. This anime excels in excitement and crazy enough, it is also very grounded excluding the partly unrealistic boxing matches. First off, the side cast is very well done, at least after the first 30 episodes or so, we get to see others in the world of boxing and how influence is a major factor on how one boxes. One thing I forgot to mention is how the anime displays struggle, It does a fantastic job in expressing emotion such as suffering, loss, and friendship.
Although most anime tend to be very unfunny,
...
Hajime no Ippo, while taking a break from all the seriousness, tends to be somewhat humorous, compared to most anime. The humor is intended for a more male demographic but I also feel like women would enjoy it too. The intro is generic, and it took some time for me to have a connection with the Main Character, but like I said before, it is very realistic in expressing emotion, and so you understand what Ippo feels when he is in adversity.
Apart from being grounded, this anime is realistic in the department of boxing, we do not see Ippo as a broken main character that can defeat everyone, or does he have powers to beat everyone. In actuality Ippo has the inferiority complex in most of his matches, in which he is put in deep adversity.
I will name the downsides of this anime though, to begin with, the length of this anime is longer then most, so if you are looking for an anime that has about 2 seasons max, do not proceed to watch this anime. One more thing, the theme of "do not give up" is always being brought up, and might be annoying (a comment made by a friend, I found it to be very inspirational). One more thing, the first 75 episodes has that 1999 look, even though its been done well, I see a lot of people complaining about it so I just addressed it.
Through and through, this anime is good and has little to no problems, hopefully you enjoy it if you watch it!
