Painfully and beautifully realistic.
It's a great blend between search of what you want from live, about love, hard work, dreams and patterns of life.
I'm more fan of classic anime drawing style, but after first episode I loved it.
The characters are very classic, but easy to fall for. The art is inspiring, and the story it self leads to think about your own life choices, why we do what we do, and, in my opinion, it's the definitions of great anime, if in the end, you not only enjoy watching it, but also it stirs questions about yourself.

This is the big one.
The story is interesting, it's dynamic and, except the supernatural stuff, it's history based. This, for me, was the biggest surprise and enjoyment, the facts, the characters, the battles, the war, the ending, it all happened, and it shows the shift moment in Japan from swords to gun-power. The characters (existed like I said). There are interesting, quite classic, the serious one, the funny one, the childish one, the quite one, the smart one and so one. It's one of those "easy" ones.
The story is not very powerful, without twists, sadness, strong characters or big moral. You don't get very involved with characters, but you can relate at some moments with them. The art is quite nice, nothing overall good or overall bad. In my humble opinion this anime is very average, by which i don't mean bad, just it's nothing too special. It's perfect when you are still trying to get over your last one, big anime which ended and you still are all over it, and then you don't want to start watching something too "strong". Or this one ... |
