Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is without a doubt the worst crap I ever wasted my time on. I can't complain much about the sound or art. It was good.

Why this anime has the top spot on myanimelist is a complete mystery to me. I'm repulsed by many of the characters. Too many of them.

The bad guys in Fullmetal are quite typical of what we expect in these types of anime. They are supernatural beings without any regard for human life. Humans are nothing but tools in their quest for power. This is nothing new. These kind of villains are ... often quite entertaining.

The problem lies with the so-called "good" guys: Mustang, Hughes, Hawkeye, Armstrong, Marcoh and many more. I think we are supposed to root for them as they assist Ed and Al in preventing the bad guys from winning. But they are worse than the bad guys. All of them willingly participated in a war of ethnic cleansing. And they all did it knowing it was wrong. They are no better than the nazis who assisted in the Holocaust. I wouldn't mind any of this, if they weren't portrayed as the heroes in this anime.

Who have we got left? Scar. I like him, but he has killed innocent people in his quest for revenge. Yao was quite entertaining until he chose to become a monster in an attempt to secure power for his clan. Then we have Edward and Winry, who both take turns sobbing their eyes out. In each and every episode, at least one of them have a big crying scene. Left is Alphonse. He's ok.

If i had managed to watch beyond episode 30 or 31, I would have been forced to root for "Father" and his creations. The problem is, I only found one or two of the Homunculi entertaining. Nowhere near enough to keep me watching.

It starts out fairly good. Then enters Kiba, someone who eventually will make you want to punch the screen. He's extremely selfish, never says anything memorable, expects to be followed, and he's always aggressive and moody. It makes no sense that anyone in the universe would want to be around someone like that, but he manages to find numerous of fellow wolfs who are willing to give up their lives to follow him.

Because there are subplots with other characters on different missions, I was really hoping those moments would outbalance the annoying sight of Kiba. They didn't. Episode 19 got me closer than ever ... to punch the screen, so I thought it safer to just stop watching the last episodes.

I'm generous by giving this an overall score of 4, but that was all due to the art and the potential I saw in the story if Kiba wouldn't have been in it.
