Realistically, I rate this series somewhere close to a 10, but not exactly a 10. Let's say a 9.7
SHIKASHI, Code Geass is indisputably, (yes I went there) a masterpiece. I will keep this review brief, because it is my genuine belief that when it comes to a series of this caliber, the less you hear or read about it, the greater your enjoyment will be.
The scores of 10 for art, sound, character and enjoyment speak for themselves so I will not elaborate on them. I gave the story a 9 because, although I hate to admit it, there are some missing ends, or dare
...
I say, plot holes. But these plot holes are very minor and not detrimental to the story.
If you are one of those poor, oh so very unfortunate, souls that loved Death Note and hailed it as a masterpiece, all I have to say to you is watch Code Geass and witness a real story foretold of an anti-hero. If you have done so and your opinion did not change, "THEN YOU ARE LOST" (yes I want you to hear this as though it is Obi-Wan speaking to you).

I consider myself a strict grader when it comes to anime and I am honestly surprised at the low ratings many of the MAL reviewers have given to the first season of BnHA.
I do not like to pull this card, but I believe the lower ratings are (mostly) coming from viewers who dislike hyped series. Yes, the series is hyped, but not wrongfully so. BnHA hit the anime world by storm and has been viewed as the successor of the BIG THREE of shounen (One Piece, Naruto, Bleach).
This big hit series is like the anime of X-Men and you may all be thinking
...
to yourselves "Cope, that is unbelievably unoriginal". I look at it a different way. How can an author possibly build a new world of heroes with superpowers and draw in fans when our society is so insanely oversaturated with superheroes already? The answer, I think is better answered by watching this for yourself.
I will confess to a bias; the first season of BnHA is what truly made me fall in love with anime. Before this, I had only watched Naruto+Shippuden, DB/DBZ and Bleach. My friend had to force me to try this series, and at the time, I was very reluctant because I used to be one of those people with a negative stigma towards anime (Yes, those people are the worst).
But that is what makes Boku no Hero Academia a near-masterpiece in my eyes. It shattered that negative stigma for me and changed my perspective of anime. With all the anime I have watched, my friends all think I have been watching anime for over a decade. But for me, the glory started here.

Ah, yes. One of the famous 'BIG THREE' of anime. When I watched this series, the only others that I had watched previously were, you guessed it, Naruto and DB/DBZ. (One Piece came later for me). At the time, I would have given this show a 9/10, considering unfinished work does not deserve a masterpiece rating.
With years gained, I have not only watched hundreds of more series, but have also reached young adulthood. And I believe those two factors are the biggest setback to this series. Simply put, Bleach did not age well. This is probably the case for most people who have watched
...
Bleach back in the day.
If you are already in your 20s and have watched plenty of 8+ rated series, you will likely not enjoy Bleach. Some may argue, "but Cope, this is a shounen, it is not fair for you to rate this outside of the target audience". False. The other series of the BIG THREE, Naruto and One Piece, aged very well. Hell, One Piece is still aging. I honestly believe Bleach can only be enjoyed by the shounen target audience.
The pacing is bizarre and the arcs are... repetitive to say the least. I will admit that the first serious arc (after all the world building and filler) is amazing. If they eliminated the filler and adjusted the story to end after the first arc, I would absolutely dub this series a masterpiece. I will also throw them a bone and say that their OST and OPs/EDs are one of the best and a staple in anime music.
I give Bleach an 8/10. If you are a true anime fan, then yes, this is considered a must-watch. Who knows, if Bleach truly does return, maybe it will fit the standards of modern anime.

This is my review for Bakuman in its entirety (seasons 1-3). I believe any and all anime fans owe it to themselves to watch Bakuman, simply because it completely changes your view and mindset on the industry that is manga and anime production. Ever since watching this series, I look at any anime I watch, or any manga I read, with a better understanding of what is going on from the artists' end of the production. Ultimately, you will gain an appreciation for mangakas and their hard work.
Not to say that this is the only thing gained from Bakuman. The story is simple, yet
...
captivating enough to keep you in your seat watching and wanting to know what happens next. This is one of my rare cases where I rated the 'enjoyment' factor higher than anything else. The characters may not be outstanding and the story may not be a masterpiece, but I completely enjoyed it nonetheless.

Are you one of those people that never understood how someone could completely forget 100% of a show they watched, especially if it was only a few years ago? Well, I was one of those people, up until recently when (I thought) I was watching this series for the first time.
With, shamelessly, over hundreds of completed anime series under my belt, I decided to give 'Akatsuki no Yona' a shot. But something kept bothering me during the whole first episode and I could not quite put my finger on it. Then, as the very predictable 1st episode came to a close, it hit me.
...
You know those typical shounen fight sequences where character A throws a dozen punches, and after a brief delay, character B receives those dozen punches all at once? I felt like character B after realizing that I, in fact, watched this series about three years ago.
Why then, would one ask, did I not know this before replaying the show? One word; unremarkable. This show left no impression on me whatsoever, and I do not think any other anime I have ever watched has done that to me.
To be honest, I do not even know how to fairly score this anime. I feel like I can't given it a one, considering there is a vast ocean of unremarkable animes that are worse than Yona and fly under everyone's radar, never to be seen. Yet, how can I give any mark for something that was completely forgettable?
SHORT ANSWER: THIS ANIME IS JUST NOT WORTH YOUR TIME.
