This is the first manga that I have read properly and it's weird that I didn't even read the prequels before this one. I guess that shows that you don't really need to know the backstory to enjoy it. I read this raw because I wanted to learn Japanese and although the language isn't actually that hard, my vocab level is not quite up to speed. But even that didn't stop me enjoying the manga.

Sorry I'm not great at writing reviews, I guess I will get to the point now. I won't bother writing a sypnosis, it's probably better that you go in cold as ... it does review some of the background anyway.

Read this if:
* Gore is your thing and you want to always be scared to see what happens next
* You love survival type stories and massive disgusting creatures
* Like to ask yourself 'What would I do in this situation?" kinda thing, question your own humanity
* Battles, battles and battles!

Don't read this if:
* Overpowered main characters are not your thing and somehow has amazing luck to survive each battle
* You hate gore and dark, dark moments
* A predictable storyline that doesn't change much
* Battles, battles and battles....

A few words while I was reading the manga:
"Holy shit!", "Oh god no...", "Phew!"

Oh and I haven't finished yet at this moment in time (I'm on chp 212) but I'm happy to add to this review or discuss this manga with anyone! I will definitely go back and read from the beginning now that I have gotten into the characters.
