I don't think there's ever been a show that varies between completely stupid and really clever so rapidly before. This show is about two siblings who are really good at games: Sora and Shiroe, who get teleported to a world in which all conflicts are settled with games. A lot of this show is competence porn featuring Sora and Shiroe outwitting opponents in often clever and interesting ways. Sometimes their victories feel more like luck than skill, but that's an exception. This show is worth watching just for the fantastic and unique battles!
That's the clever part, but here's the stupid part. Amidst these clever and

interesting fights there are jokes and silly bits. There are bad fanservicy jokes, but also good fanservicy jokes that make you laugh. It sounds annoying, and sometimes it is, but usually it isn't. Because most this doesn't feel like the show writers trying to pander to your pervy mind. Usually these things happen because Sora is a pervert and he likes to twist the games in perverted ways. The result is fanservice, but it happens because of Sora's character, which is really funny. There is still blatant and IMHO useless show creator inserted fan service, but that only makes up about 30 percent of it. The rest either develops or reinforces characters or advances the plot.
You should watch this for the characters too. The characters in this show are written really well. Just when you think you understand them they'll reveal a new and interesting character trait. Sora can be really obnoxious and cocky, but his actions are consistent with his character, which I think makes him a very good one even though you wouldn't want to hang out with the guy in real life. He's the Hero the world needs, not the one it deserves. The other characters are unique and their actions are also consistent with their respective character traits, and again they all have depth. This show is worth watching just for the fantastic and unique characters!
Other things: The art is really really pretty and bright! The soundtrack is cool. There are some electro songs that sound awesome, and the good-guys-are-winning theme is catchy, pretty and pumps you up! There is also some philosophy thrown in and a motivational speech or two. They actually made me cry twice. A show with this much fan service that can make you cry is something special. Try to ignore it and make it to at least episode three. Episode 1 isn't anything special. I didn't see much reason to keep watching after it, but I'm so so glad I did!
