So I'm not going to write a full review, but tl;dr this anime is a masterpiece.

Ecosystem:
It's safe to say that this is the highlight of the series. It has inventive idea of how a dungeon ecosystem would function. And always makes me think: "Wow, that's so clever!" or "That make so much sense!"

Story:
Amazing story with amazing character, presenting them with the consequences of their actions.

Music:
... Bump of Chicken provided this anime with a banger opening. Even if the story wasn't good, I'd watch it for the opening.

Only read on if you want spoilers. This basicly going to be my favourite examples.

Ecosystem:
A very good example of good ecosystem building is dragons. Dragon use fire breath. But have you ever wondered how? Well this show offers a wonderful and satisfying solution: The dragons store flammable waste material for their prey and click their tongue to ignite if while launching the waste at the target, causing fire breath.
Another example is living armour. A colony of molluscs?! I couldn't contain my surprise. it's so clever.
Treasure bugs feeding on mimics?
Honestly there are so many more that I'd like to talk about.

Story:
An example of consequence would be Marcille's use of Dark Magic. This, instead of getting away with it, she get scolded for it. On the surface it seems to be unfair persecution of dark magic users. But the show does if fact show that there are consequences. Overall it seems to be useful if researched properly but dangerous if used irresponsibly like many real world problems.
