I have an AniList account too, but I never really use it. If anything ever happens to MAL, I’ll definitely switch to AniList, but for now, I’m sticking with MAL since I’ve been using it for years.
I don’t watch dub, and honestly, I’m not a fan of it. I feel like the original voices usually match the characters and emotions better, and sometimes the translations in dubs lose a bit of the original meaning or nuance. That said, unlike most people, I don’t have anything against those who watch dubs. It’s all about personal preference. Τhere’s no right or wrong way to enjoy media. That said, if I don’t have another option, like with Afro Samurai, then sure, I’ll watch a dub, but other than that, it's never my first choice.
MAL has so many problems that the inbox limit doesn’t even feel like a big deal compared to the rest. I guess most people probably don’t even come close to hitting that limit anyway. I’ve been using MAL for years now, back when Discord wasn’t as big as it is today, so it made more sense to use MAL for messaging.
From what I’ve heard, After Story (Season 2) is supposed to be the best part of the series, so maybe it’ll grow on you later(?)
That’s quite interesting actually. You don’t meet many people who watch anime mostly in dub. I know a few who watch specific shows dubbed, but sticking to it all the time is rare. It’s cool that voice acting is such a big deal for you. I can see how that would make a difference in how you enjoy a show.
Is Murai in Love worth it?
Totally agree, balance is key! If everyone disagreed about everything, it’d be super hard to find people with similar favorites or even just ones who share your tastes.
I get what you mean about the movie, it was a bit chaotic with how it handled its concepts. I still liked it overall, but I can see why that unpredictability might not be for everyone
Sorry for replying here instead of messages, but I've hit the max number of inbox and outbox messages (1000). Honestly, I can't be bothered to keep deleting messages all the time just to reply. Not your fault of course, just MAL being MAL as usual...
Yeah, definitely let me know your thoughts on Clannad once you finish it.
Yeah that's just how opinions work in general. I’ve got a ton of “they liked it, I didn’t” picks myself, but honestly, I think that’s what makes things interesting. It’d be so boring if we all loved and hated the exact same stuff. As long as nobody gets toxic about it, I’m fine with people liking whatever they want. Just let me enjoy (or hate) what I want, the same way I let others do their thing.
Btw, this isn’t about you specifically or anything, it applies to everyone, myself included
Are you mostly into dubs, or exclusively into dubs? If you are into dubs only, I guess you’ll have to wait a bit longer for Orb (and other anime too), but I assume you don't have any problem with that.
About Anne of Green Gables, yeah, it’s part of the World Masterpiece Theater. I haven’t watched anything from that lineup in a while, so I thought I’d give this one a go. It has a really classic feel, and I’m enjoying it so far.
And yes, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya was definitely unpredictable, which was one of the things I loved most about it. It always kept me guessing. I already liked the series, but the movie was next level. It elevated the whole experience for me.

I see, thanks. I might check it out later.
