Katekyo Hitman Reborn
Reborn (リボーン)Holder of the Yellow pacifier. The infant hitman, who becomes Tsuna's home tutor, and drags him into becoming a mob boss. Vongola IX's most trusted hitman, Reborn is sent to train Tsuna. Despite being a mere one year old infant, he behaves as a seasoned mafioso. Reborn often says "Ciao-su" (a mix of the Italian "ciao" and the Japanese "osu", which is a casual male greeting). He appears to see nothing unusual in any of his own behavior and has an unlimited supply of various clothing. He also has several hidden compartments all around town. Sometimes seen covered in insects, Reborn claims that they are his "ears and eyes" all over town, obtaining information before anyone else. Since he is an official member of the Vongola Family and is only there to train Tsuna, he is not allowed to directly interfere with most of Tsuna's battles other than to shoot special bullets. He is, however, allowed to defend against attacks directed solely at him. In the future, Reborn is mentioned to be dead. In order to avoid the Negative Seven Rays, the past's Reborn remains in Tsuna's underground base and wears a special suit. At one time, however, his shadow looks like that of an older man, even suggests that he has a "true form." He later indicates to Yamamoto that he has been training since before he became a baby. In certain occasions, Reborn randomly disappears and reappears as "another person", wearing a different outfit along with a fake name, who no one except Tsuna recognizes. His known aliases include: Master Pao-Pao - A master fighter from Thailand. He wears an elephant hat, red boxing gloves, and a tiny goatee. He usually appears in scenes where Ryohei is present. Rebo-Yama - A substitute teacher for Tsuna's class. He switches his clothes into a typical teacher outfit. He teaches the class with fear by throwing bombs and also chalk, which disintegrates due to high velocity. He sports the same hair style as Yamamoto hence the name "Rebo-Yama" . Vongolasky - Reborn wears a typical set of Russian clothing, but does not change his personality. Mr. Sawada - Appears in Tsuna's room when Hana Kurokawa visits Tsuna. He wears gigantic glasses, and a robe. Dr. Borin - Supposedly one of the most prestigious mathematicians known in the world. In this case, he does not change into a different outfit. Tsunayoshi Sawada (沢田 綱吉) Age: 15 Gender: Male Date of birth: October 14 Nationality: Japanese Known relatives: Nana Sawada (mother), Iemitsu Sawada (father), Giotto (Deceased, Great-Great-Great Grandfather) School: Namimori Junior High Grade: 1st year, 2nd year (later in the series) Vongola Ring: Ring of Sky Tsuna is set to become the tenth generation boss of the Vongola crime family. In school, Tsuna has been given the harsh nickname of "No Good Tsuna", as he is very clumsy, gets low marks in school and is somewhat of a pushover. Although he is the tenth generation Vongola boss, Tsuna is unwilling to take part in anything that has to do with the Mafia. He always denies the fact that he is a future Mafia boss and tries to avoid anyone involved with the Mafia. In the Future arc he states that he would rather destroy the Vongola family than accept its bloody history. Tsuna is often surprised and horrified (for a comedic effect) at Reborn's and other mafiosos' actions. Later, even though he still wants nothing to do with the Mafia, he is grateful for the friends he has made since meeting Reborn. He cares a lot for his new 'family' and would put himself in the way of danger in order to protect them. There have been many parallels that link Tsuna with the first boss and founder of the Vongola family, Giotto. Both of their personalities are likely to be very similar as it has been shown that they have similar goals and ways of standards. Hayato Gokudera (獄寺 隼人) Age: 13-15, 23-25 (Future Arc) Gender: Male Date of birth: September 9 Nationality: Japanese/Italian Known relatives: Bianchi (Half-Sister), mother (deceased), father School: Namimori Junior High Grade: 1st year, 2nd year (later in the series) Vongola Ring: Ring of Storm Gokudera was born in Italy and is 3/4 Italian and 1/4 (mother) Japanese. His blood type is B, is 168 cm tall, weighs 54kg and his hair is silver. His future dream is to become the Tsuna's right-hand man. He has an ability to play the piano. He dislikes people that are older than him, Bianchi and Lambo. Gokudera is also a chain smoker, but they remove this in the anime adaptation. At school, Hayato is adored by many of the female classmates who view him as the "rebellious badboy." During Valentine's Day, a large group of females constantly followed him around trying to give him chocolate, although Hayato seemed to be more annoyed than flattered by this. Despite his image of a rebel, Hayato excels in his schoolwork and aces all his tests, much to the surprise of Tsuna. This is probably due to his rich upbringing, suggesting that he probably had a multitude of private tutors when he was young. He idolizes Tsuna greatly and considers himself to be Tsuna's right-hand man. Due to a traumatic childhood experience, every time he sees the face of his older sister, Bianchi, he becomes sick, sometimes even falling unconscious. Oddly enough, he is immune to his sister when she happens to be wearing something that covers part of her face (i.e. glasses or goggles). When he was younger, he was a talented pianist. However, he soon grew tired of playing after his 'trauma', and instead, decided to join the Mafia. Unfortunately, since he was considered to be a mere pianist, no one wanted to accept him into their family; the fact that he was an oriental half-breed lessened his chances of finding a willing Mafia family to take him in. To become stronger, he sought advice from Dr. Shamal, who, at the time, was working for his family. Hayato seemed to have looked up to Shamal, to the point that Shamal believed Hayato to have copied his hairstyle, and even wanted to learn his assassination technique, the Trident Mosquito. Instead, Shamal taught him how to use dynamites, which caused Hayato's fascination with explosives, eventually choosing them as his main weapons. In the future arc, more was revealed of Gokudera's past. He and Bianchi are actually half siblings, born by different mothers. Bianchi's mother was married to their father but Gokudera's was a woman with whom he had an affair. Gokudera's mother was a young, beautiful woman and a very talented pianist, whom their father fell in love with at first sight. Not long after, they became involved and the woman bore a child. However, in the mafia, illegitimate children are not tolerated, and everyone was told that Gokudera Hayato was actually from the same mother as Bianchi. His real mother was allowed to see him three times a year until he was three, when she was killed after driving off a cliff on her way to see her son. It was probably not an accident, because, as Reborn says, "It slid off the road at an impossible location. It's been said that there weren't even tire marks. It was instant death." Suicide was considered, but she had been looking forward to that day and had even brought a present for the young Gokudera. Gokudera himself was unaware of what had happened until he was eight. He had overheard some servants gossiping and fled the mansion the day following. Chrome Dokuro (クローム髑髏(凪)) A young girl who wears a Kokuyo school uniform and shares the same 'pineapple' hairstyle as Mukuro. From what her parents talked about, she is a girl known as Nagi and lived a non-social life which made it hard for people to communicate with her. One day after rescuing a cat, she was badly injured in a car accident which lead her to lose her right eye and some of her organs. The only way to save her life would be to have someone with the same bloodtype to transfer their organs to her. She didn't care whether she lived or not and her parents refused the offer anyway. But after her meeting with Mukuro Rokudo, he allowed her to live by creating illusional organs. Despite having an introverted personality, she kisses Tsuna on the cheek during their first meeting and calls him "boss". Chrome is also trying hard to learn Italian, since her goal is to someday be able to converse with Mukuro in Italian. In the future arc Chrome is alone as she was hit by surprise with the ten year bazooka. She has been confronted by Gola Xina in an abandoned hideout that Mokuro used in the past and she apparently lived at. Her Vongola Ring appears to be frozen over. it looks similar to the ice Tsuna created when batteling the Blackspell. Usually, Chrome is in control of her body, but if she is in an extremely dangerous situation, her body is surrounded by mist and Mukuro takes control, along with the body changing to Mukuro's appearance. Chrome is chosen to be the holder of the Ring of Mist. She is overwhelmed during her battle against Marmon, but Mukuro defeats him when he takes control. Chrome has been shown using two of Mukuro's six skills. Kyouya Hibari (雲雀 恭弥) Age:16 - 25 Gender: Male Date of birth: May 5 Nationality: Japanese Height: 169 cm, 205 cm (future self) Weight: 58 kg, 98 kg (future self) School: Namimori Junior High Grade: 2nd year (chapters 16 - 44), 3rd year (chapters 45 - ) Affiliation: Disciplinary Committee, The Foundation (future) Vongola Ring: Ring of Cloud Hibari is the leader of the Discipline Committee, or Prefects, who all happen to be a group of delinquents loyal to Hibari. Like his subordinates, he too is a violent delinquent who uses his status to harass other students. However, he prefers to be alone and cares little for his subordinates. If he is amongst a crowd, he tends to play violent "games" with rules like "I'll kill anyone who wakes me up when I'm sleeping," and as mentioned, the loser often has to pay the price with his life. His catchphrase is "I'll bite you to death", which he says to everyone who he is ready to fight. In one comic scene, Ryohei misunderstands it and imagines Hibari swallowing Gola Moska's head. He also likes saying "wao", and when he fights weak opponents, he tends to taunt them by calling them a 'herbivore'. He likes eating Japanese food and hamburgers. Hibari may be a violent and cruel person at times, but he is very proud of his school, and is apparently the only person who likes their school's song, even using it as his ringtone. He has also been shown to have an affinity for birds; he adopts one of the avian followers of Kokuyo assassin Birds' and trained it to chirp his school's song. The bird (subsequently nicknamed "Hibird" due to its connection to Hibari) becomes attached to Hibari, so much so that it still remains with Hibari nine years and ten months into the future. His attitude and abilities have gained the attention of Reborn, who sees him as a potential candidate for Tsuna's family. However, Hibari likes nothing more than to kill those who are in his way or people that are crowding. In return, Reborn has piqued Hibari's curiosity early on in the series and considers him a worthy opponent, having a strong urge to severely injure or kill him. Reborn uses this relationship to mold Hibari into an asset for Tsuna and the Vongolas. Hibari's interest in Reborn is only rivaled by his urge to fight Mukuro, whom Reborn believes inflicted shame on Hibari due to his defeat by Mukuro. Hibari regards Dino as another of his worthy adversaries. At first, he saw no interest when Dino was to train him for his battle with the Varia, but it is later revealed that he ended up training with Dino in different environments. Dino also sees him as a major powerhouse and asset for Tsuna and the Vongolas. Hibari initially regards Tsuna as being weak, who is incapable of beating Hibari even in his Dying Will Mode, but Hibari remains interested in his actions as he knows that Reborn is involved with Tsuna as well. During the battle against the Varia, he shows little interest in it or Tsuna, showing more interest in Mukuro's arrival and Xanxus, however he does note that Reborn seems to be able to draw out Tsuna's power. However, in the future, after Hibari helps Tsuna achieve the Vongola Ring Version of the X-Gloves, he states that Tsuna now thrills him the same way that Reborn does and that he is far more like his future self. Mukuro Rokudo (六道 骸)Age: 15 Gender: Male Date of birth: June 9 Nationality: Italian School: Kokuyo Junior High Affiliation: Kokuyo Junior High Gang Vongola Ring: Ring of Mist As revealed in a flashback sequence, Mukuro Rokudo was born into the Estraneo Family, and was one of the children experimented on by the Estraneos. One day, Mukuro killed his captors with his abilities and offered Chikusa Kakimoto and Ken Joshima, two children who were also experimented on, a chance to join him in his new quest to destroy the "insignificant" world. Not long after, within the past five years before his first appearance in the story, Mukuro was adopted into a Mafia family in Northern Italy. However, unbeknownst to the family, Mukuro was periodically controlling one of its members, Lancia, and used him to kill others, eventually making him kill his own family. Since then, Mukuro had Lancia under his complete control, using him as a "fake Mukuro" who is eventually mistakenly identified as the real Mukuro in a picture. Whereas, Mukuro is mentioned to have never even been photographed. What else Mukuro did in recent years remains a mystery, but it is mentioned that he, along with Ken and Chikusa, had been locked up in a high security Italian prison, which is reserved for the most dangerous of Mafia criminals, who have even committed crimes against the Mafia itself. Two weeks prior to the Kokuyo Gang's appearance in the story, they staged a jailbreak on the eve of Mukuro's execution, resulting in the death of several wardens and prisoners, and later the escape of other dangerous criminals, including Lancia. Despite often being shown with a playful smile, Mukuro is seemingly apathetic to the suffering of others. Appearing as the series' first antagonist, Mukuro is not averse to disposing of those who get in his way, and is not easily intimidated, usually speaking to others in a very direct and arrogant manner. He cares little for others, and simply considers people to be "toys" or "tools" he can sacrifice in order to get to what he wants. However, despite claiming that people are just toys, he seems to tolerate both Ken and Chikusa, and even protects them when need be, though he does not directly do so in front of them. He later sacrifices himself in order for Ken and Chikusa to safely escape from the Vendicare, and he also agrees to be the Guardian of the Mist in exchange for the two's safety. Mukuro, along with Ken and Chikusa, is implied to have a strong dislike for the entire Mafia underground, possibly due in part to the experimentations he suffered as a child. However, not only does he have the desire to destroy the entire Mafia, he also wants to invoke world suffering by starting a world war, claiming to want to cleanse the world of its filth. Even after becoming the Mist Guardian, Mukuro still claims to no longer be part of the Mafia, having been exiled from it, and continues to view the organization with great contempt, though he now prefers to avoid any involvement with them. Mukuro is also quite knowledgeable of the Mafia's dark secrets, possibly even the secret behind the Arcobaleno, a group of the Mafia's most powerful infant hitmen. Known as someone who has driven both the Mafia and police into the most dangerous and desperate of situations, Mukuro is a formidable and deadly opponent. Though Mukuro's main weapon is a trident, which he always carries with him, he is first and foremost a master of illusions; he can even overpower an Arcobaleno in a battle of its use, albeit Mukuro is also able to use combative skills. Being a skillful user of illusions, he is not easily deceived by illusions that are cast by others, possessing a highly perceptive mind. He acquired his skills by having followed the ways of the "Six Paths of Reincarnation", which has been carved into his memories, possibly due to the experiments he underwent as a child. He claims that his body has gone through all six paths to Hades, granting him six powerful skills. When using his skills, a Japanese numeral, corresponding to the realm he has entered, appears in his right eye: * When the symbol "一", representing the number one in Japanese, appears in his eye, it indicates his use of the first realm, the "Realm of Hell", which grants him the power to create illusions. * Second ("二" represents the number two) is the Realm of Hungry Ghosts, which grants him the power to use the skills of others; when he controls a person's body, he is able to perfectly perform their signature attacks. * Third ("三" is three) is the Realm of Animals, which grants him the power to summon and control deadly animals. * Fourth ("四" is four) is the Realm of Asura, which increases his battle skills; when using this skill, a dark flame surrounds his right eye. *Fifth ("五" is five) is the Realm of Humans, which increases his battle aura, thus his strength; it is considered to be the most dangerous of the Six Realms; when Mukuro first enters the realm, he physically pierces his right eye, and a type of aura, resembling the Dying Will Flame, then surrounds Mukuro's entire body,[18] but unlike the Dying Will Flame, Mukuro's aura, in itself, poses no danger, as it just represents Mukuro's fighting spirit. * Sixth ("六" is six) is the Realm of Heaven, which grants him the power to control others. Along with his Six Paths of Reincarnation, Mukuro possesses the Estraneo Family's Possession Bullet, which was deemed forbidden by the rest of the Mafia. When shot by the bullet, the person shot will be able to possess the body of another person. Its use requires the user to have a strong will and an affinity for the bullet itself. When shot with the bullet, Mukuro is able to possess and control the body of anyone that he has cut with his trident. He can possess several bodies simultaneously, and he is also still able to enter the Six Realms, granting him the ability to use a different skill for each body. Ryohei Sasagawa (笹川 了平) Age: 15 Gender: Male Date of birth: August 26 Nationality: Japanese Known relatives: Kyoko Sasagawa (sister) School: Namimori Junior High Grade: 2nd year, 3rd year (later in the series) Vongola Ring: Ring of Sun Ryohei is Kyoko's older brother, and is obsessed with boxing. He even barged into a zoo, expecting to fight a bear, but instead ends up fighting a lion. He wants to recruit Tsuna to the boxing club and in response, Reborn wants to recruit him into the family. Every time he sees Tsuna and his family doing something strange, he gets fired up and always wants to be a part of it, though appears to be unaware that it is Mafia-related. Ryohei is always hiding the truth of what he is doing from Kyoko due to an incident that happened when they were still in primary school. Some high school students who did not like Ryohei used Kyoko to lure him into a trap. In his attempt to rescue her, he suffered severe head injuries, which resulted in the scar on his left temple. Kyoko still feels responsible for this incident. He has a short memory and forgets many important details. In the future, he solves this by writing messages down. He and Gokudera have a small rivalry in which they use unimaginative names like 'Turf head' and 'Octopus head' to express dislike for each other's hair styles. Ever since he fought the adult I-Pin, he gained a slight crush on her. Ryohei is said to have been born with naturally strong muscles, possessing greater strength than the average human being. However, he cannot always exert his force to 100%; in his battle with Lussuria, he needed Kyoko's encouragement in order to fully use his power. Ryohei is an excellent boxer and is always 'extreme' whenever he fights. Having trained as a boxer he is quite proficient in hand to hand combat and is able to take and give a huge amount of physical punishment. He is the third to take the Dying Will Shot, but it has no effect on him since he always lives "to the limit (extreme)", and therefore is in Dying Will Mode constantly. In the future, Ryohei has improved greatly in his ability to box. He also learns Lussuria's footwork techniques in order to gain the ability to move at greater speeds. He also carries an animal box with him, but it is only a backup box, since he relies on his own physical strengths. He is also able to quickly heal himself from drastic wounds using the characteristics of his flame. Ryohei is introduced when he attempts to get Tsuna to join the boxing club. At the same time, Reborn attempts to get him to join Tsuna's family. He believes this is 'extreme' and goes along with it. Since Ryohei is ranked as Namimori Junior High's fifth strongest, he is targeted by the Kokuyo Gang and after his battle with Ken, has five of his teeth pulled out,[5] along with being hospitalized. Ryohei is later entrusted with the Ring of the Sun and learns new techniques during his training with his tutor, Colonnello. He wins the first match of the Vongola Tournament, defeating Lussuria with the skill "Maximum Cannon", which breaks Lussuria's leg and the metal plate on his knee. During the Sky battle, he saves Chrome, Yamamoto and Gokudera from Mammon by destroying the whole gym with his Maximum Cannon. He also saves Lussuria despite him being an enemy. Takeshi Yamamoto (山本 武) Age: 15, 25 (future self) Gender: Male Height: 173 cm, 185 cm (future self) Date of birth: April 24 Nationality: Japanese Known relatives: Tsuyoshi Yamamoto (father) School: Namimori Junior High Grade: 1st year, 2nd year (later in the series) Vongola Ring: Ring of Rain Yamamoto was born in Japan and is 177 cm tall, weighing 63 kg. He is a Taurus with the bloodtype O. His future dream is to become a professional baseball player and he goes to Namimori's batting field everyday. His favorite food is sushi and his favorite drink is milk. His favorite instrument is the taiko, a Japanese drum. Addressed as 'Yamamoto' by almost everyone in the series, this baseballer-turned-mafia has a warm and friendly personality and is rarely seen not smiling. However, in the anime, he is very naive to the point of believing that Reborn's weapons are advanced kid's toys and that the mafia business is one big cops-and-robbers game. In the manga, Yamamoto got injured during baseball practice and was about to commit suicide by jumping off the school building. Tsuna, feeling guilty for telling him to keep practicing, convinced Yamamoto to keep on living. In gratitude, Yamamoto joins Tsuna's mafia family. Yamamoto is regarded by various Reborn characters, especially Tsuna, as being reliable and almost never fails to deliver. A prominent example is how he won the turnaround match for Tsuna's family in the Varia arc against Superbi Squalo in a sword fight which no one thought he could win. Yamamoto is the type of character that can make friends with everyone, and if not friendship, at least respect. Characters like Hibari Kyoya have been shown to have interest in Yamamoto's battles and Squalo has also shown interest in his development. He is willing to sacrifice things important to him to save his friends, shown in the Kokuyo arc. Despite his easygoing personality, Yamamoto has shown that he has hidden talent as an assassin. In fact, Reborn clearly sees Yamamoto's potential and often mentions to Tsuna that Yamamoto is a natural born killer. His fast reflexes and strong body from sport gives him a natural advantage and he is shown to be able to dodge cannon fire and wayward fireworks. Yamamoto also has the ability to learn extremely rapidly, committing to memory all 8 forms of the Shigure Souen Style despite being shown only once. He also manages to develop a new form of the style in a life or death situation. In the future arc, Yamamoto also manages to light the flame on his ring on his first try. Of all of Tsuna's family Reborn seems to have a special interest in Yamamoto, helping him train initially, giving him the baseball bat that can turn into a katana, making special notes on his progress and eventually becoming his 'home tutor' in the Future arc. Yamamoto's portrayal in the story is that of a stereotypical Japanese teenager; his name 'Takeshi', and surname 'Yamamoto' are both common Japanese names, his looks are quite ordinary for a Japanese teenager, he is a big fan of baseball (a popular sport in Japan), his family owns a sushi store and later in the story, he uses a katana (a Japanese sword). In the future arc, he is shown to have learned everything about the mafia and seems to be okay with it. Though he still acts like he is still clueless most of the time. Takeshi is a star athlete at his school and believes that is almost everything that defines him. After being convinced otherwise by Tsuna, they become friends. His family owns a sushi restaurant called "Takesushi", which is also his house. Takeshi is a very warm and accepting person, and as such, he makes friends very easily and is respected by nearly everyone. He likes almost everybody in the series. Takeshi uses a bat that Reborn gives him. The bat turns into a katana when swung faster than 300km/h, though he initially did not have much skill in using it. In the future, Takeshi shows a great level of mastery with the sword and the power of the Vongola rings. Even though the main rings were destroyed, he was still able to use the special boxes and their unique powers. When his past self arrives he starts using a box that releases a swallow covered in dying will flame. The swallow is capable of making heavy rain and attacking opponents. He also borrowed an attack of Squalo's called Attacco Di Squalo (Shark Attack) which when hit by his blade causes a moment of Paralysis because it is fused with his Rain Tranquility flame. It then dulls the paralyzed person's body. Takeshi has stated that he practices with his sword every day and if even 0.01g chips off his sword he would sense it. After coming up short in his first fight against Squalo, and then being told that he would just get in the way by Reborn, he asked his father for kendo lessons. What he did not know was that his father is an incredibly skilled swordsman who uses his sword to kill. His father specializes in the Shigure Souen Style. After completing his kendo training, his father gave him a shinai that could transform into a katana only when wielded by the Shigure Souen Style. It has a special name, the Shigure Kintoki. The Shigure Souen Style is a notoriously deadly sword style that is only passed down to worthy successors. Each 'form' of the style is only shown once to the student - if the student is worthy to succeed, he only needs to see it once to remember how to use it from then on. It originally only had one form that was passed down through generations of successors with each successor creating and adding their own forms resulting in many branches of Shigure Souen Style. However, as new forms were created the weaker branches deteriorate and others disappear as there is no worthy successor. Hence this style can be called as the perfect, flawless style. The Shigure Souen Style taught to Yamamoto consist of 8 forms; four defensive, four offensive. Coincidentally, the Shigure Souen Style's eight forms all have rain in their names, further establishing Yamamoto's right as the holder of the Ring of Rain. Yamamoto has further created at least three new forms, forms 9, 10 and 11. Forms: 1. Torrential Rain (Shajiku no Ame) - Offensive. First used when fighting Genkishi. Yamamoto charges forward and attacks with a thrust. 2. Surging Rain (Sakamaku Ame) - Defensive. Used in the fight against Squalo. Yamamoto lifts waves of water around him then ducks, putting his sword protectively in front. 3. Last Minute Rain (Yarazu no Ame) - Offensive. Used by Yamamoto to save Chrome in the Sky fight. Yamamoto drops the katana kicking it with his foot to send it flying in a stab. 4. Unknown, deducted to be defensive. 5. Early Summer Rain (Samidare) - Offensive. Shown in the fight against Squalo. Yamamoto slashes diagonally but in midway he drops the sword, switching hands, before finishing the attack. Able to put off the timing in his opponent. 6. Unknown, deducted to be defensive. 7. Spraying Rain (Shibuki Ame) - Defensive. Used in the Rain fight. Yamamoto holds the sword backwards and spins to create a whirlwind-like shield. 8. Pouring Rain (Shinotsuku Ame) - Offensive. Squalo mentioned that the eighth form was named Autumn Rain, but was replaced by the Pouring Rain. Created by Yamamoto's father when saving a friend. Uses the blade of the sword to cut around the bearer. 9. Mirror Rain (Utsushi Ame) - Offensive. Created by Yamamoto during his fight with Squalo and the move that defeated him. Yamamoto makes a tidal wave with his sword then defends and when his opponent attacks his reflection from behind he attacks from the front. 10. Scontro di Rodine (Clash of the Swallow) - Special. Created by Yamamoto in the Future Arc while training with Reborn. Seems to be a tidal wave of water that surrounds him while he charges, led by the swallow from his box. 11. Beccata di Rodine (Swallow's Beak)- Special. First Shown in the fight with Genkishi. Yamamoto thrusts his blade multiple times with one hand. This attack is just like Squalo's, Zanna Di Squalo. Aria Aria is the former leader of Giglio Nero Famiglia. She is the mother of Uni and the daughter of Luce. In the Future Arc she was said to be dead due to an illness, most probably the Non-Tri-Ni-Sette/ Negative Seven Rays since she took on the curse. In Gamma's flashback, she and Gamma had a close boss & subordinate relationship (implied in the manga to be romantically intimate). Aria was the administer of the Sky trial. Her trial involved Tsuna having to do everything she says without a complaint even to go far as protecting her from men possessing box weapons, without knowing if she herself was an enemy. In the end, Tsuna obtains the Sky seal after completing the Trial of Tolerance Gamma (γ) Family: Millefiore/Giglio Nero Rank:Leader of 3rd attack Squad (Black Spell), Fake Funeral Wreath Rings: Lightning Fake Mare Ring (purity A+) Box Weapon: Billiards Balls, Flame Storage, Electro Volpi, Upgrade (Black Fox) Ambitions: Restore Giglio Nero Gamma is an A ranked member of the Millefiore Family, who leads the 3rd attack squad of Blackspell, and specializes in electrical attacks. He appears to be a merciless guy, drinking during his first appearance and also acts arrogant toward Shoichi. He seems to be waiting for Shoichi's 'special' project to be done before he and the Black Spell act. Lal Mirch reveals that he is responsible for wiping out many of the allies of the Vongola Family. Uni Uni is the daughter of Aria and granddaughter of Luce. She is a young girl who is the Millefiore Family's second-in-command and the former leader of the Giglio Nero Famiglia as a result of the early death of her mother, whom she did not know was a Mafia boss. She inherited the Orange Arcobaleno Pacifier from her mother. This Pacifier has been passed down in their family for generations. When Aria passed away, she learns of the mafia and the leadership role she must play for the Giglio Nero Family. Uni was originally kindhearted and caring towards others and during that time she came to know Reborn whom she knows as her Grandfather. The Giglio Nero Family was losing strength and power. In order to keep the family's power, she meets Byakuran who schedules a meeting with her. After the meeting, Uni emerges from Byakuran's office with a completely different attitude and personality (Acording to Shoichi her heart was dulled with a powerful drug). She then announces that the two families will merge and become the Millefiore Family. As a result of the merge, she has become bitter, and cold hearted. She is now the head of the Black Spell and captain of the 1st Calendula Squad. After the first round of Choice, she intervened to say that the promise that Shoichi said that they made is valid and Byakuran should honor it. When Byakuran ignored her suggestion she decided to leave the Millefiore family and asked Tsuna to protect her. It has been speculated that Uni has the power to either read someone's mind or read their feelings, it has also been said that she knew what would happen to herself before she met with Byakuran. In chapter 254 of the manga she reveals that like Byakuran she also posseses the ability to share her mind with the alternate versions of herself Ginger Bread A young boy who wears a wizard's hat and cape, with stars in his eyes. Lal Mirch asks if he is Ginger Bread; he calmly states that he doesn't go by that name anymore. He first claims that his attacks are derived from sorcery, but later reveals them to be based on spiders with sun flames. He sends out dolls to attack as the real Ginger Bread has yet to reveal himself. Dino Cavallone (ディーノ) Dino is the 22-year-old 10th generation boss of the Cavallone crime family, and was born on February 4 in Italy, with a blood type of O. Dino is a young man with great skills as a fighter and as a leader. His main weapons are a whip and his pet turtle, Enzio. Like Tsuna, Dino, at first, did not want anything to do with the Mafia and was also a klutz. He became a suitable Mafia boss after Reborn became his home tutor. He came to be known as "Bucking-Horse Dino" and fixed the Cavallone's financial problems, turning them into the third most influential family. Unfortunately, Dino is so devoted to his family, that when none of his family members are around, his skills decrease dramatically, often accidentally hitting people with his whip and falling down the stairs. Dino has a large tattoo sleeve that covers his left hand and most of his arm. According to Futa, Dino is the Mafia member who cares the most for the welfare of civilians. Fuuta de la Stella (フゥ太) Futa is a young boy who ranks people by their abilities in a book half his own height. He has an extremely wide range of knowledge on thousands of people and is considered to be a valuable informant for the Mafia, sometimes being paid insane amounts of money for a copy of certain rankings, but due to this, he is often chased by the Mafia. When he ranks people, gravity around him becomes distorted, making objects around him float, and images of stars and galaxies appear in his eyes. It is unknown how he actually gathers his information, but his rankings do become skewed when it rains. He also has to be looking at the person to determine their rankings. He calls Tsuna his big brother, and starts living in his house. In the future, after gathering information with Bianchi, Futa, who now carries a suitcase rather than a book, returns to Japan with crucial information about the Millefiore Family.[83] Futa also reveals that he was Lambo's guardian until three years before Tsuna's arrival in the future, and prefers that Lambo not be endangered. He is voiced by Yuko Sanpei in the anime. Shouichi Irie (入江 正一) Gender: Male Nationality: Japanese Mafia: Millefiore Family/Vongola Family Flame Attribute: Sun Ambitions: To become a Musician Shouichi is part of the Millefiore Family and is captain of the White Spell 2nd Rose Squad, and one of the six A rank members in the Millefiore. It seems that Byakuran and Shouichi have a somewhat close relationship; Byakuran calls Shouichi "Shou-chan" and seems to trust him the most. He is currently involved in some very important research for the family. However it turns out later in the series he is really on the Vongola side, sent by the 10-years-in-the-future Tsuna to infiltrate the Millifiore family and bring Tsuna and is friends to the future in order so that they may be trained to take down Byakuran. Byakuran (白蘭) One boss of the Millefiore family during the future arc. He is originally the boss of the up and coming Gesso Family. He appears to insist that his subordinates call him by his name. His name means "White Orchid". Thus far he is shown to be in charge, however he may be taking orders from Uni behind the scenes. He is extremely ruthless in his goals and has nearly exterminated the Vongola Family. He has not only targeted the Vongola family but all of their allies as well. Byakuran has also ordered that not only members of the Vongola Family be killed, but all of their family members, their friends, and everyone who would help them; this is known as his "killing sweep." Takeshi's father was one of the first to fall in this manner. Byakuran is in the middle of expanding his "killing sweep" to include even more people. It has recently been revealed that Byakuran has gathered great amounts of information about Tsuna and his family from the past. He has Shoichi Irie researching time travel by analyzing the ten-year bazooka. His plan is to travel to the past to take the Vongola Rings from Tsuna, as they were destroyed in his timeline by the adult Tsuna. Byakuran wears the Milefiore ring with outstretched wings, identifying it as the most powerful of the rings. He later battles with Mukuro Rokudo, who was posing as Leonardo Lippi, Byakuran's would-be new subordinate. He was far more than Mukuro could handle in battle, and uses a currently unknown attack that Mukuro was trying to learn about. He has purposefully hidden what he is capable of in order to gain the upper hand in the war. The final outcome of the battle is unknown, however Byakuran had no use for Mukuro as he did not have a Vongola Ring and their battle in the chapter ended with him about to strike. He later appears and tells Irie Shouichi of the spy (Mukuro) and that he was taken care of. He also warns of the high probability of an upcoming Vongola attack. Arcobaleno The Arcobaleno ("rainbow" in Italian) is a group made up of the seven strongest infants, who each possess a pacifier that represent the different colors of the rainbow as well with each color corresponding with their Dying Will Flame. Their pacifiers will glow when a member is near another Arcobaleno. The Arcobaleno were transformed from adults into their infant and current forms; in Lal's flashback of the day it is revealed that they were all turned into babies and all seven of the Arcobaleno are shown at least once in their adult forms (Colonnello is not part of the original seven). Each of them has their unique own "curse" and specific abilities, as well as the ability to emit the Dying Will Flame throughout their entire body. They are mentioned to have sacrificed themselves in order to protect the Tri-Ni-Sette (7³), or "ultimate power". Fon Fon is the holder of the Red Pacifier and is the Master of I-Pin. He orginates from China, and is also an experienced martial artist. He also resembles Kyoya Hibari in terms of looks. Fon is seen in his infant form in episode 142. His animal is a monkey, most likely a Bald Uakari or a Japanese Macaque. Luche Luche is the holder of the Orange Pacifier. In the anime, Reborn says that she has a 'mysterious power'. She is shown to be pregnant in the 6.5 version of Easy Go and Reborn's explanations of the Arcobalenos in episode 142. In the manga, chapter 254, Reborn specifically states that Uni is the Arcobaleno boss. Reborn Reborn is the holder of the Yellow Pacifier. The titular character, Reborn is an infant hitman belonging to the Vongola Family. As the Vongola IX's most trusted member, he becomes Tsuna's home tutor and trains him into becoming a mob boss. Since he is an official Vongola member and is only there to train Tsuna, he is not allowed to directly interfere with most of Tsuna's battles, though he is allowed to defend against attacks directed solely at him. His "partner" is a shape-shifting chameleon named Leon, who usually sits on Reborn's fedora. The bullets used by Reborn are created inside Leon. When Reborn's student is gradually progressing, Leon's tail falls off, his shape-shifting abilities become unstable, and he is no longer able to create bullets. After Leon creates special items for the student, he returns to normal. No matter how strong the emotion, Reborn always keeps a straight face and handles many situations as calmly as possible. Reborn often says "Ciao-su" (a mix of the Italian "ciao" and the Japanese "osu", which is a casual male greeting). He randomly appears dressed as "another person" who no one except Tsuna recognizes, and seems to see nothing unusual in any of his own behavior. In the future, Reborn is mentioned to be dead, and in order to avoid the Negative Seven Rays which Byakuran unleashed in the atmosphere in order to slowly kill the Arcobaleno, the past's Reborn remains in Tsuna's underground base and wears a special suit. He is normally voiced by Neeko in the anime but in his short appearances as an adult, Ken Narita voices him. Verde Verde is the holder of the Green Pacifier. He is briefly mentioned by Reborn as the person who sent assassins to kill Tsuna. Apparently, Verde is knowledgeable about camouflage and invisibility, so he gives his subordinates suits that can make them invisible to everyone but children. Verde believes that he should be able to see his subordinates in case they ever try to sneak up on him in order to kill him. Verde is also one of the three scientists(Innocenti,Koenig and Verde) who develops the Box Weapons in the future, where he is said to be dead like the other Arcobaleno. He is described by Reborn as a 'mad scientist'. Colonello Colonnello is the holder of the Blue Pacifier. Although he is not part of the original seven Arcobaleno, he attained the blue pacifier after attempting to take Lal's place on the day that they were all turned into babies. He is presumed to be 16 or 17 years old before taking part in that event. He is in charge of the training ground behind Mafia Land and was a former member of the COMSUBIN, thus he is an expert when it come to using heavy artillery, using an anti-tank rifle as his primary weapon. His animal is the Eagle on top of his head (in infant form) which helps him fly to distant places. Colonnello also has a rivalry with towards Reborn and vice-versa, but despite this, he shares many traits with Reborn, like being a merciless tutor, suddenly taking naps, and having a sharp tongue. He becomes Ryohei's home tutor during the Vongola Ring Conflict, and in the future, he is said to have died trying to protect Viper (Mammon). He is voiced by Daisuke Nakamura in the anime. Viper Viper is the holder of the Indigo Pacifier. He is a member of the elite assassination team, the Varia, under the name Mammon|マーモン|Māmon}}. Known as the Arcobaleno's best spellcaster and illusionist, Viper has the ability to cast powerful illusions, as well as being able to locate any person by sneezing into a piece of paper (he carries a roll of paper with him); the spit or mucus that sticks to the paper shows a map leading to where the desired person is. His animal is a black frog named Fantasma that lies on top of his head. By turning into a yellow salamander and biting its tail, which forms into a "halo" above him, more properly called an "Orouboros", a snake biting it's own tail, Fantasma can give Mammon the ability to fly in combat. He claims to have been trying to break the Arcobaleno curse, and had sealed his pacifier so that other Arcobaleno could not sense him. He has also created a chain that conceals the power of the Arcobaleno pacifiers, as well as the Vongola Rings. The chain is known as the Mammon chain, but is replaced, at least by the Vongolas, by the cap that conceals the rings powers the same way as the chains. During the ring conflict, he defeats Chrome Dokuro, however, he is defeated by Mukuro once the latter takes possession of Chrome's body. He is said to be dead in the future, with Gingerbread claiming that he took his own life after feeling there was no other way out. He is voiced by Rumi Shishido in the anime. Skull Skull is the holder of the Purple pacifier. Head of the combat forces of the Calcassa Family, Skull wears a full leather outfit and a motorcycle helmet, which is copied by all his subordinates. His pet is a giant armored octopus whose tentacles follow his hand and finger movements. He is implied to be not as powerful of an infant as Reborn and Colonnello, whom he calls his senpais, and is looked down upon and ridiculed by the two. Reborn considers Skull as always being someone's errand boy and Skull, to his dismay, does not deny the fact that the only person he was an errand boy to was Reborn. In the anime, it is known that his job was a stuntman, he also gained the nickname " Skull from Hell". Lal Mirch She works along side Tsuna's father, Iemitsu in the CEDEF organization for Vongola IX. Lal Mirch plays a crucial role in the Future Arc by training Tsuna for the invasion of the Melone Base. She accompanies Tsuna and his family to the invasion and collapses after a battle against Vice-Captain of the 8th Squad, Gingerbread. Currently she is recuperating from her battle with Gingerbread at the Vongola base in Namimori, in the future. Since she wasn't at the rendezvous with the rest of Tsuna's family, it is almost certain that she will miss the entire Choice battle. She is the holder of a corrupted pacifier. She has a curious red and yellow tattoo on her right cheek, which is caused by Colonello when he took over Lal's position as an arcobaleno. It is assumed that it is the curse of the incomplete pacifier. When she uses her incomplete pacifier as shown during the Melone Base invasion fighting Ginger, this cursed mark grows in size. Families Millefiore Family The Millefiore Family (ミルフィオーレファミリー Mirufiōre Famirī?) is the Mafia family that is engaged in battle against the Vongola Family in the future. The Millefiore is a result of the merging of two separate Mafia families: the up-and-coming Gesso (ジェッソ Jesso?) Family led by Byakuran, and the family with as much history as the Vongola, the Giglio Nero (ジッリョネロ Jirryo Nero?) led by Uni. They are organized into two groups to distinguish their old families, which are then further separated into 17 different squads, each named for a plant or flower. Those originally from the Giglio Nero are the Black Spell and have the tendency to engage in direct combat, while those from the Gesso are the White Spell and specialize in cunning battle tactics. There appears to be animosity between members of the White Spell and the Black Spell, resulting in a lack of communication and sabotage by individual squads. Their organization also possesses the Mare Rings, a set of seven rings on par with the Vongola Rings originally belonging solely to the Giglio Nero. ~Giglio Nero The Giglio Nero (ジッリョネロ Jirryo Nero?) led by Uni. They are organized into two groups to distinguish their old families, which are then further separated into 17 different squads, each named for a plant or flower. The Giglio Nero Family are the one who posses the Mare Rings. ~Gesso Family Gesso (ジェッソ Jesso?) Family led by Byakuran, and the family with as much history as the Vongola. Vongola Family The Vongola Family (ボンゴレファミリー Bongore Famirī?) has long since been the most powerful Mafia family in all of Italy since its creation 400 years prior to the start of the series. They are considered to have a violent and bloody history, and have had several other Mafia families and organizations serving them, including a few members from the infamous Arcobaleno. Giotto a.k.a. Vongola I (Primo) is the founder of the Vongola Family. He was known to have had an unorthodox family; that is, he accepted anyone he liked, including kings, military men, rival Mafia members, and even religious people. The organization has also been on the receiving end of secret black ops military technology, which has bolstered their strength over the years. Those who inherit the Vongola bloodline have certain unique traits; some traits are consistent, with every Vongola in each generation possessing it like heightened intuition, while sometimes it would skip either one or possibly even several generations. They also possess the Vongola Rings, seven invaluable rings which have been around since the founding of the Mafia underworld and are usually in possession of the main members known as the Vongola Guardians. They are also rich in various traditions, most notably the Vongola Tournament, a traditional battle in which two groups vie for the seven guardian positions. Kokuyo Gang The Kokuyo Gang is a group led by Mukuro Rokudo, who formed the group after escaping from a special, high security jail in Italy which housed heinous criminals who have even committed crimes against the Mafia. Along with the two comrades he escaped with, Ken Joshima and Chikusa Kakimoto, he recruited other Mafia criminals who were able to break out from the same jail some time later. After their defeat at the hands of Tsuna and his friends, they were all once again imprisoned, though Chikusa and Ken are later able to escape, while Mukuro strikes a deal with the Vongola for their safety. The Varia The Varia is the Vongola Family's elite, independent assassination team. They are composed of genius assassins who work in the deepest recesses of the Mafia. Each member takes on missions that are said to be impossible to accomplish by humans, however, they do not accept a mission unless they believe there is a 90% chance of success. Those that see them work often say that their high level assassination skills are demonic. Despite lacking loyalty and respect for other members, they are extremely loyal to their leader, Xanxus. The Varia also appear to have more than fifty subordinates ranged under the command of the main members. The Varia is apparently reclusive, only showing themselves after Iemitsu Sawada disappeared. |
