You don't need me to tell you how good this one is. The show speaks for itself. Go watch it.
Because MAL is asking me for a longer review, I'll proceed to share some of my favourite rhymes from Yano subtitled in Spanish (props to the translator):

When I first read about this anime I was hyped, and it did not dissapoint.
Story: 9/10
The first half was good enough to keep me watching, with some silly moments here and there. But the second half came unexpected. As we dive more into Sawamura's conflict, the episodes feel shorter, and you are left craving for more. In some episodes the melodrama was at the same level as a soap opera. But, on a personal level, his search for his own sound and identity hit home, and his frustration never felt more relatable than now.
Art: 7/10
The series' art in general looks fine, but when the shamisen
...
is out, you get some beautiful shots and movements that makes the instrument feel alive.
Sound: 10/10
The ops and ed were great, and the score in general was good. But the 10 goes for each time you hear the shamisen being played. Nothing less than outstanding.
Character: 8/10
While there are many cliches in the characters, there are also a lot of moments when they feel real, from the expectations of the adults, to the frustrations of the teenagers, and the ambition of the musicians. You can't help but to see yourself reflected on them.
Enjoyment: 9/10
The series grabs you from the start with the first perfomance, hypnotizing you with the shamisen. That feeling only grows with every perfomance, as you get to know more of the characters and empathize with their emotions.
Overall: 9/10
While I was hyped, I wasn't expeting much from this anime, so it was nice surprise that it is a good as it is. I definitely recommend it, and the only thing left to say is I cannot wait for Season 2.

Okay, let's get over with this (spoilers ahead, I don't even care):
Story: 2/10
I'm not going into much detail in this aspect because other people already have in other reviews, and I don't have nothing new to add. Yeah, is dreadful, but we all knew what we were going to get. Gotta give the anime credit though, it was really self aware of what it was doing.
Art: 3/10
My sister told me the art looked like a it was from a hentai. Did she lie though?
Sound: 9/10
I'm giving this a 9 solely because of the op. It was the best of the season and you can't change
...
my mind. Also, shout out to Junya Enoki and Kana Hanazawa for being two of the best seiyuus rn.
Character: 3/10
I hate everything about the main guy; his design, his personality, even his voice (the actor was fine, but I didn't like the timbre that he went with). Ichika and the rest of the characters were okay, though I did find the best friend/sister of the main duo annoying.
Okay now LET'S TALK ABOUT TAMARU. He was the solely reason why I kept watching the anime, and, are you kidding me?! Ichika and him had nice chemistry, much more things in common, looked cute together, and you still had her end up with the pedophile? I already knew it was going to happen, but I'm still mad they did him dirty.
Enjoyment: 6/10
Came for the memes, stayed for the op and Tamaru, and stayed 'till the end just for the sake of completing it. As I said before, I knew I was going to get trash coming into this, but I find myself skipping through some parts towards the last episodes because I felt bored. I did enjoyed the first half though.
Overall: 4/10
It wasn't annoying enough to put it lower than 4 (that's an honour that only Ao Haru Ride managed to accomplished).

I have a tendency of ruining films for myself by over hyping them, and when I saw the trailer for this one last year I thought this would be one of those. Luckily that wasn't the case.
I saw the 2003 film out of impatience, and while both share pretty much the same premise, this film decides to change direction halfway through it, with a bit too much melodrama and cliches for my taste. And while one of the things that I prefered from the original one was the realism of the story, this one makes up it's lack of it with a beautiful scene about
...
facing your doubts and moving on. One element that I have to give credit for to this film is the fact that the relationship between the main duo developes in a well paced and organic way, which is something that a lot of films and anime can't accomplish.
While is no Makoto Shinkai, the art is gorgeous, and the use of watercolors gives us beautiful panels and a unique style.
The voice acting was fine, the actors conveyed the feelings of the characters nicely. Nothing much to say here.
The characters are pretty much the ones you expect to find in anime. The supporting characters are fine (though I did find the rival of Josee a little bit annoying at times). Josee is your typical water downed tsundere, and thankfully as the movie progresses she becomes more likeable. I liked seeing Tsuneo complaining with a drink in hand at the beginning of the film; moments like this make the character more interesting, real, and enjoyable. But even though he's still your typical good guy, he's a nice addition to the Kageyama-verse. I liked the fact that they characters have (or at least try to) have a life outside of the relationship.
Although I didn't cry nor laughed out loud at the film, I did find myself enjoying it (however, I did roll my eyes at the melodrama). Of course I have to mention Eve because OF COURSE. I discovered his music last year through Jujutsu Kaisen and the trailer for this film, so I already knew the songs by heart before watching. I also have to mention the song at the beginning which I quite liked.
If you're looking for a nice romantic comedy, I definitely recommend it. It is the better "Me Before You" in my opinion.
Having said all of this, onto my next obsession: the Belle film from Mamoru Hosoda.

I would recommend this a million times over Ao Haru Ride (I gave that a 3).
The story is fine. I expected the melodrama from Io Sakisaka, but the decently and mature enough characters make up for it. Sure, there are some communication problems, but given the age of the characters, it's understandable. In the end, they all find a mature way to resolve them.
My first impression of the girls was that they were going to be childish and annoying, but they surprised me being far more likeable than I anticipated. I ended up rooting for them halfway through (especially Yuna).
The acting was good (nice

debut for Marika Suzuki) and the sound aswell, with some nice music. The art was easily the best part. Jesus, the are some great shots and everything looks beautiful.
Overall I find myself enjoying the film, getting really invested at some parts. It's no masterpiece but it's a nice time.
