'Kimi ni todoke' isn't your typical shojo anime.The protagonist, Sawako, is seen as a chick-from-horror. Her classmates are afraid of looking at her and there are gossips that you'll get cursed if you do it for longer than 3 seconds. She's the shy and, because of it, lonely type of girl, but when she meets Kazehaya, she tries to change a bit. She's not used to having friends and the process of her developing friendships is one of the most well depicted. This anime is an emotional one, but, thankfully, it has its funny moments, too.
