TEN. TEN. TEN. TEN. TEN. TEN. TEN. I LOVE NORMAN. I LOVE RAY. I LOVE EMMA. THE SOUNDTRACK, ESPECIALLY THE ENDING, IS FIRE. I'VE NEVER HAD A SERIES GET THIS MUCH IN MY FEELS IN A LONG TIME. AND I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO TRY. THE PLOT IS GOLDEN. MY HEART'S BEEN STOLEN. THIS SHOW IS A MASTERPIECE, PERIOD.
Did I forget to mention that I love Norman? Because I do.
Love it, love it, love it.

didn't know what to expect going into the show. I saw little hints of what I'd see on youtube comments of the opening video (the opening song is what got me to watch it, as well as a recommendation from a friend), but still, the direction of the story fairly surprised me.
And that was only one surprise. The first, I should say. The start of the episode focuses more on the relationship dynamics before it dives into the real juice, so sit tight. While watching it, there might have been a fleeting moment where I was like, "so where is this headed?" But the story was engaging enough to keep me for a few more minutes. Then I was hooked.
I assure you, if you're not interested in the first ten minutes of the show, give yourself an episode. One episode.
I'd also like to point out how well the characters are written. Solely watching the opening or something might give you the idea that these characters are as stereotypical as their appearances might suggest, but that's far from the case. Unlike some shows I've watched, these characters can experience a range of emotions and still be themselves, like NORMAN! Other characters I've watched in other shows are just given one trait, like "cool," and that's all they live by. Somehow, they're not fazed or scared of anything. Nothing gets passed them. bo-ring. In this show, the characters aren't like that. They have personality. They're alive, relatable (but not too relatable). It's so refreshing.
Regarding my enjoyment, I can say without a doubt that there was not a second that I was truly bored watching this. There was always a twist or turn or a relationship dynamic or the simple presence of an interesting character that kept me on my seat. I know I said before that I had a fleeting moment in episode one where I asked myself where the show was headed, but that was all there was to it. Just a question. Not an acknowledgment of my boredom. Because there was none.
The colors were nice and vibrant. Sometimes I can't handle so much grey. The choice of art was fitting for this series. And the music, as I've already said, stole my heart at episode one. Especially the ending song.
Overall, I love this show. The characters, relationship dynamics, story, and MUSIC all come together and just invokes all kinds of sweet, gushy feelings inside me. In the midst of that melting mess, I can identify hope (which is a real winner), and love.
My review became way longer than I intended, and yet, it still isn't enough. I love this show so much that a sole review can't articulate what I'm feeling right now.
I love Norman. I love Emma. I love Ray. I love Norman and Emma. And Ray. Most of all, I love Norman. Goodbye.
