Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo and Special A are romantic comedy high school anime that focuses on the interactions between a special talented group of students that live isolated from the rest of the school. At the core of these anime has to be romance that develops between the characters of each group over time. Both plots consists of spending time as a group and growing up in something like a second home. Look forward to multiple pairings, and the comedy that ensue as a result of falling in love. The near prodigious, and socially important characters all seem to get a pairing by the end, and severe implications are clear at the end. Both series contain characters that however talented, have many issues, such as obsessions or retardations that get in the way of being normal students. Both series contain people who have not dealt with romantic love before. ===Main Characters=== Special A's main heroine is an eccentric, dense, tsundere black haired beauty who has issues with competitions and helping other people, and the main guy is a smart bishounen in charge of an important company at a young age. Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo's main heroine is a artistic girl most likely afflicted with Asperger's syndrome who needs to be taken care of at all times. As a result, hilarity follows, such as plentiful changing and bath scenes. On the other hand, the main hero is a normal boy who exhibits a healthy sense of altruism. Summary: — Both are about the importance of friends within a group that can't fit in anywhere else. — Both contain geniuses, awkward first love, and the struggle to cope with reality. Mirai Nikki and Steins;Gate both deal with changing the future, and past. Although one is more action orientated, and one is more scientific. Both contain amazing revelations and keep you on the edge of your seat. Mirai Nikki is more heart pounding and supernatural, but Steins;Gate is more intellectual. Both are deep and most importantly, these shows have AMAZING character development. We can feel their tremendous growth, their motives, and their ambitions. Tearjerker, heartwarming, and immersive, if you've seen one and want an anime that makes you think just as deep, check the other out.

Kill la Kill

Interestingly enough, the comedy/shounen flicks, Beelzebub and Kill la Kill are quite similar in setup, execution, and of course enjoyment! Some similarities they share are: School theme—if you liked the school premise, where there is a main character "challenging/getting challenged" by other groups/gangs you will enjoy both, for both use the school as a catalyst to move the plot. The school is also like a gag, which is quite silly, as they do not represent how a normal school is at all. Over-the-top—Both go to extremes for enjoyment, both showing some degrees of nudity (which I won't list here) for the humor effect, which works well in both cases. Of course the action/humor are taken to new extremes and both animes have a IDC attitude and show what they want to show, making them unique animes that really stand out. Enjoyment: If you like one, and are looking for an anime that is similar in style and humour, check the other one out. Both are top tier humor animes that use the over-the-top silliness to give the viewers an enjoyable watch. If you are looking for something new apart from the teeming amount of overdone shounen anime, romcom, and clichés check them out.

Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom and Mirai Nikki are both dark, despairing dramas where the main character is suddenly thrown into a dilemma that tests his strength. Yukiteru and Zwei try to survive throughout the stories when many obstacles are thrown their way. At first both ukiteru and Zwei are hesitant to kill people, but after their first kill, they acclimatize with their new circumstances and deal with it. Both also have a strong female leads with unique personalities, with a penchant for killing. The tendency to show rated R gore and mood fit each other. If you liked the darkness/mystery of Mirai Nikki with a tinge of a smaller romantic subplot that slowly develops over time, Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom is a great watch.
