The protagonist of both novels share a similar characteristics, mainly -A former MMORPG player sent into a fantasy world -Both are mage players -Overpowered (Abilities, items, etc.) -cautious about their opponents -Ruler-like attitude(pretending) -May look like badass from the outside but actually....they're not(in the inside) The setting in both novels are somewhat similar, with most of the inhabitants weak and the protagonist strong. In addition, the protagonist has servants(overlord)/slaves(Isekai Maou) with them. Differences -Overlord starts off with the protagonist having an overpowered guild base -Isekai Maou is somewhat less darker and gory than Overlord -As of now, the story of Isekai Maou centers around the main protagonist. In Overlord, the story may centered on other characters, giving more perspective on the world of Overlord. -Overlord has a somewhat more solid foundation when it comes to world-building -Though both protagonist share a somewhat similar 'evil' alignment, the protagonist in Isekai Maou is less cold and calculating than the protagonist in Overlord
