To be honest, I loved the show in the beginning. I was so hooked on the battle between L and Light. However, when Misa arrived my enjoyment went downhill. That isn't to say Misa is a bad character. I actually did really like her. The problem was what her character brought plot wise. There will be some spoilers. When Misa gets caught by the police that causes Light to give up his Death Note and hers to lose his memory. This caused an arc that was so unbelievably boring that I dropped the show. I also already knew L dies because everyone loves to spoil

Overall its a pretty good anime. It may not be for all viewers though, since it feels like an anime to only pass time. The type of anime to smile at the screen and then forget majority of the plot a year later. The story was average and has the same message pretty much all sport animes have. In the last couple episodes it really hammers the message in your head by repeating the phrase over and over again. The character personalities are generic and follow many tropes and stereotypes that you'd see in these types of anime. However I really liked Reki's role as
