Suggestion WATCH IT UNTIL THE END
Clannad explored many themes, among them( one of my personal favorites) was how the past actions determined life. This was the only aspect of it that seemed like it authentically depicted life. This theme was examined mostly through characters that were not the protagonist. Other than that it was filled with overly dramatizing problems that only a person without any real problems could dramatize. In a lot of ways this was the main course but you usually put up with it because of the aforementioned real problems that really created an empathy.
