This season offers a great amount of visual improvement, to the point that they revamp older scenes from the past seasons (especially S1, really has gone a long way from then). It contributes to the overall experience, especially in terms of cinematic shots that you'd expect from animes of this genre. We also see new characters come to life, some taking their spotilight, and some settling in the background. (Personally, I have no issue with this aside from Komachi being an almost complete nonfactor for the most part after being such an influence in the former season.)
