Isekai Izakaya "Nobu"
add

Both are series that strongly incorporate the concept of "culture shock" (to a positive effect). While Izakaya's domain is pretty much entirely food-based (i.e., introducing contemporary Japanese cuisine to a vaguely ancient Roman setting), Thermae Romae covers a wide variety of things (although primarily about architecture).

Mitsuboshi Colors

Imagine if Yotsuba was split into three separate pre-school girls. That pretty much summarizes Mitsuboshi Colors. There's really no simpler way to describe it. The comedy style and the character interactions are just that similar.

Daidai wa, Hantoumei ni Nidone suru
add

Collections of short stories of a surreal, dream-like nature in an otherwise contemporary setting with a subtly melancholic art style. Daidai wa is, however, a lot darker than Ashizuri.

Thermae Romae
add

Jin and Thermae Romae are both series that are focused on a protagonist who finds themselves the victim of spontaneous time-travel, using their knowledge of modern customs and technologies in order to further their craft for the good of others within the time period they reside. While Jin is about a modern Japanese surgeon stuck in the Edo period of Japan, Thermae Romae is about an ancient Roman architect traveling forward in time to modern Japan.

Osomatsu-san
add

Osomatsu-san and Nichijou are both sketch-based comedy shows. Banking on their unique art style, often-absurdist humor and slapstick, but also being capable of subverting your expectations on occasion. Osomatsu-san is more of a "true" sketch comedy in that the characters bring their personalities to a variety of roles within the sketches, rather than just playing the same role in every sketch like Nichijou. Osomatsu is also more vulgar and "adult" with its humor, rather than relying solely on slapstick and absurdist situations like Nichijou.

Ryushika Ryushika
add

Both series revolve around the daily thoughts and activities of a young girl and her family/friends. Often providing an innocent, humorous, yet interesting take on things people may take for granted, such as weather, foods, animals, and more.

Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri
add

Both series utilize and explore the concept of "introducing modern technologies to a more primitive culture", including the reactions and political developments that may be bought about as a result of said technologies. While Gate focuses more on introducing modern idealologies and the technologies themselves to a 'swords-and-sorcery' setting, Jin focuses on practically applying modern knowledge in a more 'grounded' primitive historical setting. Jin is more drama-focused than Gate, containing significantly less action, comedy and fan-service.
