The Darkest FMP! Series To Date:
Story:
The story is defiantly strong, it picks off well from where the first series left off, and has a good pacing speeding up/slowing down when necessary, There isn't a single filler episode in this series, and I felt that after every episode I watched that the plot or the characters had developed a little; which is obviously very positive. I won't talk too much about the story itself so not to ruin it for people who haven't seen it yet, but it is defiantly a good continuation of the first series
9/10
Art:
FMP! has always had it's own distintive art style,
...
the animation is certainly superb; the moment the intro sequence begins you know you are in for something special and the attention to detail really makes for a realistic setting, the fight scenes are especially good and the blood looks really realistic, the settings are much darker than the other two series and really adds to the overall tone of the series.
9/10
Sound:
No anime series is complete without a good OST, and this series defiantly doesn't let up in this department. From fantastic opening and ending songs to fantastic mood music, the whole score sounds perfect and really seems to fit well with where it's put, whether it's low sounding beats for mysterious scenes or softer songs for more delacit moments, there's never a moment when the music seems irregular or out of place
10/10
Character:
Now the characters have always been my favourite part of the FMP! series, but this series sees more development than the first two combined. Never have we seen Sousuke more emotional or Kaname more helpless, there were genuine moments when I was on the edge of my seat to see what happens next between them. Not only does there relationship develop, but also Sousuke as a character, he defiantly seems like he's grown up alittle by the end of the series and is ready to live life the way he wants to, which is a message that applies to us all. Appearances from the ever perverted Kurtz and the strong willed Melissa just help add to the character side with Sousuke experiencing different emotions around the both of them. The new villians introduced were excellent and worked on so many levels, there more violent nature really made the series alot darker than I imaged it would be, and really had character that made them stand out as memorable villians.
10/10
Enjoyment? Well that's a combination of everything above really, the fact I was a big fan before this series just meant that I was hyped as hell waiting and then watching this series, and seeing some more development between the characters I love really made it a worthwhile watch, but to fully enjoy it you defiantly have to atleast seen the first series (the second series, being a spin off, is briefly referred to in scenes but not in relevence to the plot).
I'm a harsh critic so I very rarely hand out 10s, but this series really ticked all the boxes it had to and defiantly exceeded all expectations, I'd reccomend watching this if you watched and enjoyed the first two series, be warned this one is more violent and does contain a few bloody scenes.

Rosario + Vampire isn't anything special. Now I'll start by saying it isn't your typical harem manga, being set in a school full of different monsters, so I'll start with a good note and applaud them for abit of originality on that part.
But the praise dies there; the same recycled plot device and non-existant character development gets painfully old fast, the characters in general are so generic it's unbelieveable, like "here's typical loser harem protaganist"surrounded by lots of women who love him...*yawn* Now atleast with other harem mangas the setting changes abit, like there'll be a scene in school, then maybe at lunch or after
...
school at someone's house or in town, this manga always has the same settings, and always the same suspicious character who ends up being the villian for that chapter, it's more predictable than scoopy doo. Alot of fan service is presence, I mean i'm not complaining i'm a guy afterall but it seems to me that the fan service is used to cover up for the flaws of the series, like they think people won't notice if they shove a chest into the readers face.
There's now a second series of the manga out but I couldn't care less, I haven't read it but I'm guessing that they've probably made the characters abit older and added a new fanservice girl.
So to summarize:
- The setting is pretty original; applause
- The art is also good so thumbs up to the artist
- Same recycled plot device; very predictable
- Generic and uninteresting characters; non-existant development
- Lack of settings makes the story get boring fast
- Over reliant on fan service; used to cover flaws
- Typical whinny protagonist

I recently finished this anime having been recommended it by a friend. Now I'll start off by saying it isn't your conventional Anime, there's almost a complete absense of romance, action and violence. The show delves into two worlds, The world we know and the "Wired" universe.
The anime itself was very philosophical, it shows our dependance on technology and how through the internet people can create their own persona, be the person they've always wanted to be. For an anime from the late 90s, it's perception of the world is pretty frightning; nowadays alot of people do spend alot of their days on
...
computers, on games, entering a different universe where the problems of reality vanish and they can become someone else. The animation itself is excellent in parts, sometimes really mesmerizing. The sounds are eerie yet at some parts somewhat inadequate, not to say they weren't needed, just that you really don't notice it at times.
I'd reccomend this anime to people who are open minded and ready to sit down and experience something they probably haven't before.

A Fun Read:
POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD;;; (37 chapters released at time of writing)
I stumbled across this manga when browsing through a manga site, it didn't particularly catch my interest at the time, but I decided to read it out of sheer boredom.
The plot is simple, A teacher who runs the Kendo club bets with his former school senpai that if his girls kendo team can beat his then he wins a years worth of free food at his senpai's restraunt, however even assembling 5 girls for this battle appears hard, however he stumles upon the incredibly skills of a young girl who he's determended to
...
join his team.
I found this manga to be fun and light hearted, A slice-of-life crossover with sports and high school life, again although these things aren't the typical things I would look for in a manga. The characters are well executed, especially Tama-chan who's background i've found interesting uptill now, and the rest who are very colourful yet still hold their own traits that are either humourous or just interesting to read.
To summarise read this if you're in a light hearted mood not looking for anything too serious, if the plot isn't interesting enough for you the characters will surely draw you in enough to make you want to keep reading on, I myself will defiantly look forward to up and coming chapters in this series.
