Never let the medium keep you from a good story. I enjoy a selection of Manga and Anime. Thanks to some friends of mine who introduced me.
Shonen tends to hold little interest for me. But I've been pleasantly surprised to discover that there is more here than that. I'll sample almost anything once. But I reserve the right to my own opinion.

Hi No Tori is one of the greatest mangas ever made in my opinion. What are your thoughts on it? Do you have a favorite volume? Do you prefer the OVAs or the TV anime? It's sad how Osamu Tezuka died before it was completed. ;_;
Yeah, I recommend finishing LOGH during the summer time if you are still in school for the fall. It DEMANDS your attention lol.
One Piece is great, although the problem with the anime is that it slows down a lot. The openings are amazing though. I recommend for the best experience is to read the manga IN COLOR. Not that B&W is bad, but the world of One Piece should be seen in color in my opinion.
My MAL friend DonWun had a good podcast on it. It does have spoilers but they warn you about it before you they talk about it.
