I had high expectations but it let down totally due to multiple reasons:-keep in mind I'm biased as I don't really fancy stories with tease humor as I find unsolicited advances annoying. everything is always passed as being cute but if everything is cute nothing is and over the time it becomes annoying automatically.
1- mc is the most un-intrested rom-com mc I have seen , I counted in the span of 12 episodes he blushed 3 times and smiled 1 time , he is the most bland person I can imagine ironically distinguished by his trait of invisibility. He genuinely feels as if it matters

not as if it's all just a duty , he didn't had any expression through his ventures with Kubo , his expressions said ,"I can't do anything it's just my duty", while Kubo is obsessed with the mc , yes she said it herself she finds him intriguing, so I really wouldn't classify it as "being in love" he is just a source of amusement for her.
2- there is basically no story progression in the first 11 episodes and no character development in the first 10 episodes, everything just....... Happened all by itself, I felt drowsy during the mid of the show.
3- visuals were ok except the mc , I feel like I can draw him in 15 seconds. Why do authors feel the need to portray the mc as a sore looser who's just "nice" always
4- won't comment about music as it interests me the least.

this show really could have been really good if it didnt try to pander to everything , and coupled with HORRIBLE story telling like if you are trying to count from 1-10 any normal person would go the normal way but what this series does is it tries to go like 1 2 5 3 7 8 4 9 and then 10 , you see how fucked this is ,and to top it all off the story was mid in every way and the FMC is an absolute hypocrite denies her true nature under the pretense for wanting a discrimination-less liberal world where every species
...
coexist , that is imposible atleast in the case with ogres , as they are literal animeted human hatred , and despite knowing that fact she persists displaying absolute ignorance and idealistic world thinking and in the middle of all that she even managed to justify the killings she is going to do in the future .
if you want to watch something mildly sensible please stay away from it

I don't usually have high hopes for generic romance anime but this got me excited for the first few episodes where the male mc is finally moving on from non reciprocated situationship from the female mc , but all my hopes came crushing down as the story progresses , i dont think i need to explain as to why that happened . its the usual anime troupe where the boy make the girl sit on a pedestal .i dont really think i need to relay as to how the story progressed as many people have explained it better than i could, ill get straight to

my viewpoint.
the main cast romance is abhorrent ,its specially infuriating in this one Aika who is the FMC is constantly being told that Wataru is in love with her ever since middle school and they are in highschool now , he is soo open about his feelings that literally the whole school recognises him as a stalker, but as to no ones surprise aika doesn't take him seriously throughout the show she refuses to even acknowledge that her entire ego and attitude is validated by him vigorously fueling it everyday . she doesn't have more than 1 or 2 likable attributes and that includes her face , and as for negative characteristics i could go on for hours as to why she is not a good character like :-
1.she is arrogant beyond belief
2.she is delusional to think someone will not lose intrest eventually
3.refuses to take initiative
4.waits like a fucking loser untill someone comes and talk to her . so on and so fourth
Male mc wataru is seriously a hypocrite , in the first episode he already had figured out and accepted the fact aika is not worth all this effort but throughout the story he revert back to the "simp"setting . First of all his love is literally pointless , supposedly he fell in love with her as soon as he laid eyes on her when she gave him hand , that is not love that is the exact defination of infatuation , he is infatuated with the person who tried to save him from getting anymore humiliated on that faithfully tragic day. his one of the most biggest mistake was to give her god status and worse she is aware that he has given her that status . mc is pathetic despite being such a good judge of charcter he still couldn't see what was in that pink haired thick skull . what makes him worse than is that he literally simps ,like he could actually defeat an actual slave at boot-licking, and despite knowing that he still continues to do so .
except the main cast everyone else were actually very good , for me they actually save me from this deplorable relationship, heck even the teacher and aika's mother were better than the main cast and they barely got 30 seconds of screen time .
sorry for repeating the same thing again and again , its my first time writing a review like this , anyway dont watch this untill you have nothing else to watch, even then still dont , untill you are into this sort of emotionally abusive relationship.

I really would have give it a solid 8/10 but only till episode 7 , please who are watching this for romance DO NOT WATCH BEYOND S2 E7 my rating fell from 8 to 3 because of the shit show the auther stirred up here. Untill that point the show was genuinely great but after that the character development plummeted sooo bad that I had to watch it at 2x just because it was so annoying and painful to watch.
The show is basically finished with the main couple "yukimura X himuro" till ep6, but here starts the worst character plummet I have seen to

this day, let me name a few 1-himuro isn't jealous that someone other than her is trying to get close to yukimura ,2- the sweet under classmen suddenly falls for the mc, becomes rude , starts having doubts about being normal ,3- the innocent looking guy was made to be a yandere ,, like wtf man ?? What is this shit ? I came to this expecting something wholesome but what is this shit?
They really should have pursued the other couple "ibarada x kosuke" they were really going solid , or heck fan service episodes would have been better than what happened.
Sorry for bad writing, this is my first review and I had to write it cuz it was sooo bad
