One and half minutes into the first episode I knew I was gonna have a good time. I was kinda tricked into the death metal theme from episode 1... then they went annoying pop idol, but I forgave that pretty quickly because the overall feel of the show was great. Each character fleshes out their own back story....except for Tae...she's just a zombie. Aside from that, all the characters mesh well and have fun backstories. I got really teary eyed about Sakura in the last few episodes because it tied in with my own personal experiences with other people and suicidal tendencies, but I ... could have been misinterpreting things. Sunglasses guy is a loud loveable idiot, you grow to like all the characters, and it wraps up nicely by the last episode of the first season. I look forward to the other seasons as this is my first impression into the series.

This show has some key elements that I really like: characters dealing with grief, fluid action, and enjoyable character banter. There are some real consequences to the choices they make in this show, albeit with a time traveler do over button. The main character Vivi is an a.i. who starts out primitive in her primary goal of making every one happy with her singing. She gets roped into a plot to save the future...I guess because if everyone is dead they can't enjoy her singing. Through the course of the show there are heart felt moments of regret, sadness, relief, and hope that define Vivi ... as more than just a singing robot. Not every plot line in this show is well written, but the action, style and feelings along the way are its strong points and this show is definitely worth a watch.
