Do yourself a favor and skip episodes 3-4-5-7.
Half the show has a fairly irrelevant part to it and seemed to only be there to make it a a chronological sequel to the prequel (Noblesse: Awakening), despite adding almost nothing of value to the story.
The show should have been a 180 minutes movie.
Before you start this show, you need to read or watch a quick 2 minutes recap of the prequel to this show (Noblesse: Awakening).
Story-wise, it starts as a reverse Isekai. You follow the story of vampires trying to live normally in a human setting, but then there's outside interference from other vampiric characters to
...
twist the story around. It eventually becomes a full-fledged vampire story. You come to learn that the story and the characters of the first half are almost all irrelevant, and the worst part is that this transition is done at such a slow pace. The vampire part of the story is a family/clan and inhertience feud among vampires; the fundamentals of that story are fairly basic and almost disappointingly predictable. The ending is incredibly flat and the lack of substantial backstory makes it even harder to appreciate. Another flaw is how restricted the environment is; you're constantly switching between 4 spots that almost never change, sort of like a sitcom.
Character-wise, the main character is very stoic/robotic and it fits his "style", however there's too much mystery behind his story and it leaves you asking for something that the show will never deliver. A lot of characters that you see in the beginning end up being completely irrelevant a few episodes in.
Art-wise, it's nothing special. The special effects in the combat are satisfying but nothing out of the ordinary. Fair.
Combat-wise, the last 3 episodes become loaded with hefty combat but the rest of the episodes could have used much more of it.
Overall, the show should have been a movie. It's fair; not bad, not very good. It would have been very good had we've been spared the useless episodes in the middle of the show.

It feels like an adaptation of the biblical story of Job.
Only now, the vehicle/onset of the story is a bunch of highschoolers in a relay race.
Story-wise, I think that the lore is fantastic (if you love biblical lore), the storytelling is mostly good because you get to see real-life/relatable "taboo" behaviors, which showcases the moral decay and the way it connects it to the "demons" in the story, however a lot of what's going on is slightly too extreme or not concealed enough. That's a direction the author wanted, but I would have preferred the "demons" to be more restricted in their appearances/powers/public display. It's
...
a bit too "hollows from Bleach" and not "biblical demons" enough, at least for me. The way "chaos" ensues is very grounded in reality; the way the plot tries to show how humanity would react to the unfolding of the story is also well presented and interesting to watch. There's also some key shocking scenes that convey emotion very well. The ending is also very biblical and well done.
Art-wise, the art is conflicting. On one hand, the animation can be very captivating and hectic; you get a sense of speed/movement, but on the other hand, it can be extremely overly-simplified at times, almost looking like some Flash game.
Character-wise, the reason why it's called "devilman crybaby" becomes very obvious, and the main character fills the role very well. Other characters feel a bit too superficial and stoic (i.e. the family).
Overall, the fundamental story is fantastic, the storytelling is fair, but the art and characters could be much better. Fairly enjoyable and captivating.

The show feels like Futurama with some combat.
Conflicting to rate, maybe a 6.5 would do.
Story-wise, the storytelling is extremely scattered and chaotic, nothing substantial to really follow. It's episodic but with a lot of very superficial "side stories" developing, with one in particular taking more space than the others, but even then, it all feels rushed. You don't get the time to really explore any of the characters or anything in the world really. The main character is also NPC-esque and the people around him are the exact opposite, not really a good contrast for a main character.
Art-wise, the world is basically a Futurama-esque
...
world that takes place in NYC. A somewhat grey-brown color palette that feels very stale.
Combat-wise, it started off fairly interesting. Blood bending, incantations and all. Unfortunately, at some point, the show became more-so of a sitcom and the "seriousness" of combat was diluted and combat scenes felt like nothing more than ad-breaks between comedy scenes.
Overall, the show is "ok", but it feels a lot like a sitcom with some combat. Nothing feels serious enough or developped enough.

Definitely better than the anime, but the main flaws remain.
The development of the main antagonist of the movie was good, but the purpose and details of the whole debacle is completely missing.
The movie was dragged for much longer than it should have. It could have easily been dropped down to 45 minutes; too much bickering and stretched dialogue. The story jogged in place, we barely advanced towards the main goal.
The fights were much more interesting; new abilities and so forth were brought forward. It made it much more enticing to watch.
A lot of NPC dialogue was present; I can understand that it's justified for the
...
antagonist, given his personality, but it was still a little too much. The other characters also had this overly-inquisitive personality and couldn't stop voicing their every thought.

The synopsis gets a 10/10, the anime gets a 3/10.
Fantastic idea that was wasted with a terrible execution.
The idea of the show seems to draw a lot from Dante's Inferno (maybe the Manga goes into the Purgatory and Heaven part). Going through layers of hell that get progressively worse and horrific, filled with different conditions and creatures, until you reach the very bottom. Unfortunately, it missed up on a massive opportunity.
The first 3 episodes lure you in, the rest collapses.
The pros:
...
- Good premise/concept; Inferno-like descent into the unknowns of Hell to be re-united with a loved one
- One of the main characters (Reg) is actually intelligent, curious and reasonable in his thought-process
- Once into the Abyss, the present outside world is no longer touched upon, which gives you a nice focus on the main story at hand and also gives you that little feeling that you're stuck in Abyss with the characters
The cons:
- Art is a bit disappointing; washed up paint-brushed backgrounds with odd "plushy" character designs, in a story that is supposed to be serious/gruesome; felt underwhelming and out of place
- Most characters are extremely annoying and have all sorts of unnecessary oddities, and the fact that they're kids doesn't help
- The way it tries to make itself look "disturbing" is cheaply done by exploiting child sexuality, urination, vomitting. Seeing an adult bleed is to death isn't exactly "disturbing", but seeing a child bleed to death is. It tries too hard to be revolting by constantly focsing on "oh look, penis, oh look, naked, oh look, peeing". The are only 3 mainly "disturbing scenes"; cannibalism, internal bleeding and transformation. Arguablly, only the last one was actually disturbing (even then, we didn't get much time to bond with the characters to feel this amplified sense of distress)
- The way it tried to drag out "surviving" with a dreadfully long and boring set of little incidents that really lead nowhere. This time could have been allocated to actually creating a world for each layer of the Abyss. Instead, we got boring, flat worlds that didn't inspire much fear or anything at all, they were just vast lands of emptiness. So much so, that in the 4th layer, Reg could even carry out a set of side-quests (retrieving the items for Nanachi) without ever being threatened or encountering anything. The black-whistle seen looked like your average archeologist with nothing to fend for himself, completely clueless.
- The way it rides on mysteries (similar to parts in Attack On Titan), with nothing being explained and just being force-fed the premises. Hopefully this is addressed somewhere down the line in the manga.

I'll start with the anime's only and major flaw:
It's very episodic without any substantial progress, except for some little character development. You could very well watch it in reversed order and it wouldn't be much of a problem. There's also no ending of course.
Story-wise, it's an anti-criminal organization that fights off criminals, mostly thieves. Every episode is a new criminal they're stopping. You also see a very small family-household development between the chief and his family, but nothing too interesting.
Character-wise, the main character is very likeable. He's very strict and benevolent. Good at fighting, confidant and rules with an iron fist while remaining likeable and
...
calm. The rest of the characters are fair, but nothing worth mentioning.
Art-wise, oddly enough I would characterize it as "Samurai Noir". The music, the colours, the art itself draws very close similarities to the Noir genre.
Combat-wise, the combat is well executed. It's mostly grounded in reality, with an extra edge (i.e. jumping high). Fights get very gory and merciless, there are no filters, which is a massive plus.
Music-wise, the music is very good. It sounds like a mix of oriental and Noir music.
Overall, enjoyable on all fronts, except the major flaw that it's entirely episodic. It could have been a 10/10 with a continuous story.

The biggest way to summarize this anime is "Death Note without powers".
Story-wise, you follow 3 perspectives; the terrorists, someone else and the detectives. It's a detectives-vs-riddlers story, but you're not sold on why things are happening until very late into the anime, which makes it all the more interesting. The investigation process is detailed and interesting, without trying to be convoluted; you can follow along. The riddles are mostly based on Greek mythology and symbolism, which is explained throughout the show and accessible for the viewer to understand. There's a huge amount of "current times" references such as Amazon, cryptocurrencies, twitter posts, Youtube comments, Google
...
maps, Wikipedia, etc., which makes the whole debacle easier to imagine and live through.
One of the most important things is that one of the characters you see early on doesn't end up straying the show away from its original direction, as you could have excepted; it was very satisfying to see it stay consistent. This piece of the story-telling was very well dosed and complemented the story very well.
The backstory was great and satisfying.
There are just 2 events near the ending and in the ending that I didn't personally like, but they were mostly "details", however the show is nonetheless a ~9.5+ (closer to 10 than it is to 9).

This anime is carried by its top-tier art and animation.
Action-wise, the first episode of the show baits you into thinking the show will be an action-packed turf war between clans with different powers. You end up seeing barely one fight half-way through the anime and a little more sprinkled throughout the last few episodes with one final fight. A lot of potential fights end up being escape scenes.
Story-wise, the main "group" you follow throughout the story feel like side-characters for most of the anime. The world you're set into has absolutely no context; you're left wondering "why" anything of what you're seeing is happening,
...
not to mention there are parts that are convoluted for nothing.
Art and animation wise, the art of the environment (especially the school setting) is close to none; truly awe inspiring. Scenes look like anime wallpapers with their deep green grass/trees, sparkling light blue water, beautiful glass buildings and well drawn building. When there's actually something going, which is rare, the animation is very lively, powers have a lot of color and movement; huge color palette with different shades constantly moving around, huge camera-panning and angle-switching, gives you the impression that the fight is lively and intense.
In short, the first episode sells you the idea that it'll be a massive supernatural gang war. Turns out it's just a boring "thriller" with a pseudo-story, in a pseudo-world, with a mediocre twist, and great art.

Anyone who rated this movie anything above 2/10 has never watched any iteration of the Dragon ball series.
Pros:
- Nothing
Cons:
- CGI (there's no such thing as good CGI, but this one was extra bad on top of that)
- Doesn't feature Goku or Vegeta
...
- Went from literal GODS fighting back to Red Ribbon android nonsense
- Beerus was simpified
- Constant Bulma fan service was quite honestly disturbing
- The first actual fight happens 55 minutes into the anime (61% into the show)
- Random "super ultimate Dr.Gero" villain, forcefully trying to revive the android legacy
- Piccolo gains a new transformation through a WISH, not HARD WORK
- The dreadful "twist" between the Kim Jung Un look-a-like and the Ribbon boss
- The actual level of the fight is so incredibly LOW, it could have ended with Kaioken Goku's pinky; literally a side-character's superhero story
- The 2 Androids that were constantly shown in the trailers/promos were practically worthless and didn't bring any depth to the story, literally 2 "machines" that teamed up and ended up being support characters next to Gohan and Piccolo
- The main "bad guy" turns out to be a literal Bio Broly 2.0 with a brainless/soulless Cell instead
- They wasted a huge Gohan transformation on this pathetic "challenge"
- Vegeta wins a spar against Goku at the very end
- Broly is crying for something that isn't KAKAROT (simpified)
For all intents and purposes:
This movie is not cannon and has never existed.

The first 2 episodes lure you in, the rest is quite honestly dreadful and the ending is even worse.
Starting at episode 9, the animation turns to CGI.
There's too much monologue and backstory allocated to every character, who ends up being killed in one take. They'll swoon you for 2 episodes on a character, then kill him off instantly without them ever getting a chance to fight. It's ridiculous.
For how much backstory is allocated to the characters, there's virtually nothing allocated to the lore of the world and competition itself. It's just a quick premise fed to you without any substance and you just roll with
...
it.
It feels like one big chunin exam Forest of Death arc from Naruto.
The action-intensity really slows down past the first few episodes, and it becomes mediocre "strategy fighting". A bad version of Drifters.
The show gives you high hopes in the beginning and ends up being a major disappointment.
