Massive alliance plot armor, Hundreds of titans + titan shifters did nothing to the Alliance, Marvel-type fight with no stakes unlike early seasons fights, sudden shift against the island, Eren motivation retcons, Eren character assassination, crying about mikasa while murdering billions, Eren being made into a tragic hero, Eren not knowing why he killed 80% of the world, Mikasa suddenly being the key character for the plot (Ymir bullshit), Eren killing his own mother being brushed away by Armin a few seconds later, Eren killing his own mother being brushed away by the fandom a few seconds later, Eren apparently lying in his previous monologues, ... Eren let them win, Worm being the big baddie and just disappearing cuz why not, Jean and Connie die only to get instantly revived, Zeke dying = Rumbling stops for some reason, Kruger fighting against Eren, Colossal Eren, overdone symbolism, Falco conveniently being able to fly and being an expert at it (when Eren and other shifters had entire arcs dedicated to learning titan stuff), Reiner sniffing letter, Annie not getting any consequences at all, Annie and Pieck crying for Eren, Armin being the Messiah, the rest of the world not killing Armin and his friends, Armin convincing Zeke to kill himself after he showed him Leaf, Mikasa carrying Eren's rotting head and using Moses powers to cross the ocean, Mikasa decapitating Eren then kissing the head, Ymir loved Fritz, Only Ymir Knows being the explanation for any question, climax battle with nobody except Eren dying, Paradis Island letting Avengers go back to the island, Mikasa thinking about Eren even after getting married, having children and grandchildren (poor husband), awful romance, 9/11 reference, Paradis gets bombed => Floch was right, sending the message that if you are gonna start a genocide, make sure you complete it fully (no half measures), "cycle of hatred" message that is overdone in media, Titans arent eradicated

*EP 19 UPDATED Review*

This show is absolutely a waste of your time if you didn't love Evangelion. This show is hollow for lack of a better word. I am not really invested with any of the characters even on episode 19. Zero Two and most anime girls are cute, but the balant hype she generates for this show is misleading. This show has plot points that most people will not be able to reach before getting extremely tired of the drama. There is also not a concrete purpose in this show.

*EP 13 Review*

This show has largely been memed about and talked a lot about lately. It shows elements of Gurren Lagann and Evangelion, but lacks polish of both.


Story: Kids in puberty fighting monsters in a post-apocalyptic scenario - So far the show is more kids dealing with puberty than fighting monsters though.

The show depicts humans without traditions, without culture, just authority. The cast we see and follow are most of the normal people, or at least they attempt to be. We follow those that are the results of human genetic experiments, and we all question what the point really is? So far the story and plot is clouded with melo-drama.



Overall: Show was advertised as mecha-action, but it turns out to be melo-drama and barely any action, at least none that was meaningful. I sometimes forget it is a mecha anime where the kids can actually die instead of a school kids with part time job as monster killers. I don't think its very good, but it could be surprising like Steins;Gate, or disappointing like Alhnoah Zero.

At first this show seemed promising, but it quickly devolved into beautiful and emotionless dialogue. The exposition was excessively monotone. Everything was mundanely explained by the various colorful characters even when you can logically infer what they meant, and what the stakes likely are (if there really were any). This show just feels like a very convoluted fate series.

Story: So we have a mix up of characters all hailing from different sources of media and genres. We have the typical fighting female red-head, stoic and nerdy female mage (who was also the narrator for the most part) , a typical bad-ass sword user, irritable ... Mecha pilot, righteous lady knight, a magical human weapon, and two psychopathic reality benders. The first psychopathic reality bender is the main antagonist known as the "Military Uniform Princess". She is the one who summons the characters in to our world to somehow attempt to destroy it by dimensional collapse. Our protagonists will attempt to literally re-write history to save the world. This is the basic outline of the story. It sounds kind of amazing, but it isn't.

You'll question the plot and the logical motivations of the characters. At least I did. Here are some questions I had when watching this show.

Why won't "Military Uniform Princess" just initiate all the nukes or directly attack the world if she wants to destroy it? (This was later explained a bit, but still puzzled me.)

Why would "Military Uniform Princess" summon heroes who would attempt to stop her?

What is the purpose of the main male lead character?

What is at stake?

Why do I care?

The story was pretty forgettable and you'll forget that there was anything at stake at all.

Art: Was great for the most part. Everything was looking smooth and good. Action was nice and impactful.

Sound: The sound and music was really good as well. The hype was going when the music was, just the talent was wasted on this show.

Characters: The characters were somewhat intriguing, but their relationships were ultimately hollow. Most interactions just felt so artificial and forced - from creator to creation, the plot didn't do much with the characters other then forcefully move them on with the plot in grinding lock-step. There wasn't an urgency to any planning. It seemed as if everyone was playing pretend.


Enjoyment: I really wanted to enjoy it, it just was too bad.

Overall: I don't believe this show is worth wasting time on. Go watch something better.
