The shows are very similar. I think Holmes is a lot like Gintoki because of how they both are really lazy and goofy but can get the job done. I also think this because Hudson is similar to Shinpachi and they both have a strict landlady asking for rent. It also is better made but still has an element of laziness to it. It's definitely better than an anime based off of a mobile game that I don't think many people care about.
