Wow honestly this manga impressed me quite a fair bit with it's storytelling. The twists and turns is honestly something I DID NOT expect even from this manga making it all the more enjoyable.
The manga starts off with our mc dying and believing his childhood friend Chiaki was the reason he died. I went into this manga as I found the premise to be quite intriguing where as virgins above the age of 18 started dying out.
Firstly I want to start off with the art , it's nothing special and there's really nothing to comment on it , I would even say it's not even up to standard for nowadays. The story of this manga is about a guy being kept in captive for his soul by his yandere girlfriend after his death. Now the premise starts off pretty strong making you wonder how the story could develop.
The story is written in the most simplistic way of storytelling whereby there isn't too much going on in the story and only one big conflict to end the series with it. The story of Gyo starts off really strong with something absurd as fish having legs invading the town of Okinawa. With most of Junji Ito's work is more of how his able to create suspense and how bizarre the situations could be.
However for Gyo it wasn't the case , the horror aspect did felt surreal and somewhat disgusting which served it's purpose. The story itself for this manga isn't the worst and starts of as a pretty typical yandere romance. As someone who have read his fair share of yandere manga the storyline is pretty mediocre and the development of the plot felt so predictable and bland.

This manga has a pretty basic premise for a revenge manga at first being the MC is taking revenge for his family which isn't something new nowadays. Things takes a interesting twist when he finds out that the target of revenge is immortal.
The flow of the story was gradual and smooth although the pacing was slightly slow to my liking. The art of the manga was beautiful and immaculately done so that's definitely a bonus for readers that look out for good art in manga.
