Note on the score -- this part is a note to myself too, so I remember what these score means:
>8 is the show I finished more than 1 time and don't mind rewatching.
6-7 is the show I consider a good watch and don't mind watching a sequel.
5 is the show I consider not a waste of time but would probably not rewatch and probably not watch its sequel.
4 is the show that meets the minimum requirement for me to finish it. It is considered a waste of time.
Justification for controversial takes:
For me, the first few episodes are the most important because it defines all the characters and what you should expect from the show, also makes you consider to continue watching or not.
Some of the masterpieces tell what the show is about and character growth direction within one episode, eg: Hyouka, Ore Gairu, and Violet Evergarden.
The end and the whole experience are comparably important compared to each other. I would not rate a show based solely on the ending episode/arc. Tatami Galaxy is the show that has a very good ending (all episodes become sensible by this ending) but the whole experience is torture for me. There was one time I thought I almost finish an episode of Tatami Galaxy and just 7 minutes has passed (My thought is like: what is this? Math class?).
Likable character is surprisingly important to me. For example, I acknowledge that Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu and Vinland Saga are good shows but I can't bring my self to finish it as I don't care for any of the characters.
Moreover, some of the shows with episodic nature really need a likable character that actually has a real personality (being cool is not a personality). An example of episodic anime that fails in this regard is Cowboy Bebop and Devilman Crybaby.
Also, shounen anime is always too slow for me.
