I was drawn to this story because I had a lot of sympathy for the female leads, The male protagonist was ok at first, he was brave and strong and kind, but when they try to reveal his deeper personality I ended up hating him instead of feeling sympathy for him. I think they could have made him dark and interesting but instead, he just came off whiny and obnoxious. The end felt more cheap than tragic. the show also uses a lot of plot devices that were totally unnecessary. It would have been better with a much more subtle hand on the supernatural elements,

I do not want to be too judgmental of others sexuality, but I have a very strong sense of duty to protect women and children. Nothing enrages me more than abuse, especially sexual abuse of women and children. So I had a very hard time getting the bad taste out of my mouth from the S&M theme of this show. I gave it a try because the description talks about the relationship being mutual and that the girl enjoys it, so I thought what the heck? I'll never watch 50 shades of gray so maybe this will be like a small taste of that culture.

I have to admit that I did not like the original full-metal alchemist series, I watched the entire show because there was so much hype about it, but I was never able to take it very seriously and I ended up giving it a 4 for various reasons. So I was pleasantly surprised by how good this movie was. The story was really well put together with some surprising plot twists which always had me guessing, and the art and sound are a solid upgrade from the series. I watched it in english which felt natural compared with the sometimes awkward translation from the series.

This ecchi comedy is from the 80's, and it is painfully obvious; and consequently, the artwork is painful to look at sometimes. A lot of the animation reminds me of Hentai films with an unsettling bestial portrayal of the human body which I think is quite ugly. Newer ecchi films are so much prettier in the way they draw figures, and I think that the newer ecchi style would have suited the show’s mood a lot better.
