Beautiful AND great visual design AND a nice soundtrack. BUT a rather thin plot plagued by plot holes AND moments of sheer ludicrous stupidity AND formulaic twists and turns. On the upside the writer must be one hell of a Trekkie and general Sci-Fi freak because, get this, the bad guy is essentially The Borg, and the final boss-fight is with a couple of streams of Matrix Sentinels inside a gorgeous levitating Borg Cube, culminating in a showdown with the evil Borg Queen . BUT its very fun to watch. So it gets a 7.

Fantastic anime. A splendid voyage of becoming encapsulated within the most beautiful animation I've seen for years. Wonderful musical score, superb scenery, well built and highly believable characters, all make this one of the best anime out there. There is so much to be said, but perhaps the most important thing is that although part of an anime, any and all of the characters are, above all, believable and relatable human beings. Each ruled by reason above passion and each worthy of respect and compassion. This, for me, is the single greatest achievement an anime can aspire to, and together with the elegance and mastery
