Both shows are character driven stories with supernatural twists requiring the characters to trust each other with each others secrets, and in both shows this leads to romance. In Kotoura-san she can read minds, and in kokoro connect the supernatural twist changes, from body-swapping to Mind reading (in the OVAs). Neither of the shows dwell on why the phenomenom happen, but fous on how it affects the characters. Both have drama (with Kokoro connect focusing on it more so) and they take you on a entertaining rollercoaster of emotions as you watch character relationships change due to supernatural cirumstances.
