Shadows House is a wonderful little slice of life mystery show with a rather unique sinister undertone, and something of a redemption arc for Clover after Promised Neverlands absolute car crash of a second season.

The story hits all the right beats, with each episode being an interesting peek into the every day lives of characters in its bizarre world whilst also slowly drip feeding information as you, the audience, gradually figure out how its world works alongside the main character Emilico.

Emilico really is the standout character here, as she's the rare "energetic, cheerful and near infallible moral paragon" archetypal shounen-y protagonist that manages to sidestep ... being annoying entirely. She's just fun to watch and exudes kindness in the same way that Mob does in Mob Psycho 100 for instance (although her mannerisms are wildly different of course). Beyond that, the show's entire ensemble has been deftly handled so far, with each character getting their fair share of screen time and development, and each member of the main cast is well written and likable in their own way, while the antagonists are suitably fascinating and mysterious.

The art exudes charm as well, the stunning aristocratic victorian environments contrasting against the ever encroaching soot and the creeping shadows and darkness really sell the shows atmosphere perfectly.

The voice acting is solid too, the characters voices fit well with their characters. Not much to say here other than they do a good job.

Overall, I highly recommend this show, it's a real hidden gem this season.

First and foremost, this is not an idol anime! It's a masterfully done hard sci-fi story that just so happens to feature an idol as the main character. With that out of the way, allow me to voice my feelings about this show.

I honestly feel any review I could write would be doing a disservice to just how fucking good this show is, the story, art and and animation, character writing, thematic elements, etc. are all executed near flawlessly. Vivy is truly something special, and I implore you to check it out.

My only caveat is that I recommend you watch episode 9 fansubbed, as they ... botched the official subtitles for that one.

This series has an interesting premise, the idea of someone's naivety leading to them being taken advantage of when they get isekai'd is a fairly fresh and logical take premise for the genre, but unfortunately the execution leaves much to be desired as after a bit of weirdness wherein the main character buys slaves (which makes sense for his character, but the show handles the subject matter super weirdly for the entire runtime) the story rapidly devolves into your typical generic isekai power fantasy harem nonsense.

For what its worth, its at least up to par with other isekai shows in terms of art, the characters ... are somewhat believable (although written in a manner that validates some rather slimy worldviews) and it's not unpleasant to watch (most of the time) so I can't give this a negative score, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you're after some mindless popcorn entertainment.
