By the way, I remembered another work in the style that might interest you: Laughing Salesman
I mean the old version since the remake that was made was one of the worst selling anime of all time and has problems involving the way they decided to revive a franchise without trying to adapt to the present times. Still I have to say that even the old version is part of a certain niche and may not satisfy you as much.
Some say that recommending Gegege is better, but I have not yet seen this classic and its remake to give a more solid opinion.

Although the first TQ ova was a little confusing, I like the idea of the episode and some scenes like the one in the graveyard, however, the second OVA works very well but has a narrative that hardly pleases everyone, mainly because it has elements more common to Japanese books. I also agree that Zekkyou Gakkyuu's plots improve a lot as the chapters go by, if you compare it to the beginning it seems like another series. Furthermore I also liked Zekkyou because it reminds me a bit of Higanbana and even though it is not the best of Ryukishi07's works I still like it a lot.

I found you through the interest stack, this is how I find most of the MAL users who focus a little more on manga.

I like the anthology style and I think Zekkyou Gakkyuu is pretty cool even if the target audience and the magazine in which it was serialized imposed some limitations on the plot and characters. But to be honest I have some problems with Outer Zone due to the author clearly being inspired by Twilight Zone, this is more due to my brain directly comparing each story to the the Rod Serling's era. I believe that projects like Twilight Q can better capture the essence.

It may not be the best there is, but you might have an interest in Lori no Mori.
By the way, in case your interest expands to a more X-File side you might enjoy Kurosagi Shitai Takuhaibin.
