I think the first OVA is about Shizuo, and he appears prominently in the second OVA. As for the rest of the series, he's there but doesn't get any screentime alone.

No problem. A thing to note: if you do start watching Durarara, it starts off slow, but it becomes very interesting later.

If you want good anime, you might want to take a look at Baccano! and DRRR!. Also make it a priority to watch TTGL. It's one of the best, if not THE BEST anime I've ever watched.
