Every season there are a few anime that stand out from other others. However, once in a few years you will get an anime that will stand the test of time, as years pass by and it is still regarded as a masterpiece of its genre.
Shigatsu is one of those anime that will not be forgotten, as many more seasons pass by, the heartfelt story of two musicians will always have a place in my mind as one of the best love stories I ever seen.
Every character in this show seem like they have a place in the story, there is plenty of development in

all of the major characters, and all of the supporting characters have their own special place in the story. My only critique is some parts of episodes have too many comedic filler parts, or flashbacks that are similar to another similar flashback in some previous episode.
The animation and sound are well done too. The show has a main theme that is placed during tense parts, with slight changes to the melody depending on the situation. The performances are really well animated, and the show does a really good job showing what goes on in the head of the musician when they are performing. As someone who spent years playing violin, and entered a number of competitions, the show really captures this aspect well.
For anyone who is interested in drama stories, this is a must watch that people who enjoy anime must see once in their lifetime.
